Its a couple weeks away but I wanted to get this started now to ensure we have a decent size share. I need to clean house on my current bottle collection because I can't fit another in my side by side fridge I currently store them in. I'm not gonna go Clonies style and bust out a cooler but I am gonna bring way more than normal.

Spreadsheet for anyone who feels like adding something

I, too, am overflowing at the moment, so I'll bring a good couple morsels presuming I can get it off work (should be possible).

So this seems as good a reason to make the trek down and finally visit Nobi as any. I intend to be there.

And lunch beforehand at Killen's cuz in my mind, Webster and Pearland are both pretty much the same.

My work schedule will keep me from this share, but hopefully I can make it to the May bottle share.

just a finer point to re-iterate, you need to bring bottles that the bar itself does not serve. if you cannot do that, buy them from the bar and share, buy food to share, or something. there's a bit of an issue with rolling up with beers that could have been purchased at the establishment.

not a person who comes to this would deny a plate full of egg rolls. that's for real.

I haven't made it up to many recently, but I don't think I've ever seen bottles brought that they had for sale... still a good point and reminder.

I always buy at least one pint and something to eat.

The last time I went someone brought a Buffalo Bayou Gingerbread Stout. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that beer, but this isn't the kind of share to bring locally-available shelf beer when most people bring beer that's not as easy to get.

A rule of thumb that I like for shares is: cannot be purchased and has not been purchasable for the last five years (unless part of a vertical) in the city where the share is.

Last share someone brought a Namaste, midus touch, and an old raspy. To the guys credit he is not on BA, and only found the share by typing Nobi into google and a BA thread popped up as a result.

On one hand I Agree with what has been said. Would also add beers that have just recently hit shelves that sold out in a second, and maybe not everyone had a chance to to truck chase at 8am to hoard. Though on another hand I would also say, big deal if someone brand new to this happened to show up with a few DFH beers. It is not going to kill anyone

no-one made a stink about it.

i'd just hate if that became a thing and the proprietors decided to nix the deal as a whole. i'm not certain, but there may be a legal issue there. it's also bad for the establishment. that's taking money out of their register. we try to treat the places well that let us do this. got to keep up with that.

So I'm the guy who brought the DFH Namaste, Midas Touch, and the Old Rasputin (and yes, a DFH pils and a Buffalo Bayou Red Velvet Stout, too). I found out about the bottle share on pretty short notice and I was unsure what to expect, so I brought everything I had. I had no idea it was going to be so trade-heavy.

My lineup for this time was bombers of the Stochasticity Project Grapefruit Slam IPA, Stone's 2014 Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale, and a Lagunitas Cappucino Stout I happened to pick up recently. (Yes, I know Nobi House has the Grapefruit Slam on tap -- I had it there before, and I thought sharing it might encourage people to buy a glass from them in the future. I don't think splitting a single beer across a dozen people is taking money out of their register. What's more, the leftovers become free samples for their patrons, which I'm sure they appreciate.)

I know that these are nothing super special and are all available in Texas. I planned on buying food to support the establishment, as I did last time. I recently moved back to the area and I'm simply not in a position to make & bring trades. If the share would rather I bow out until I can do that, then please let me know.
