    Hey folks,
Any recommendations on a pub/restaurant that has both a good Sunday lunch and a good beer menu?

Am waffling on Hawksmoor due to the (apparent) lack of choice. Jolly Butchers seemed like a possibility, but roast gets mixed reviews. Smokehouse seems pretty pricey. CASK Pub and Kitchen?

Doesn't have to be the best beer selection in the world, just a few decent cask choices.
    Thanks!

Cask pub and kitchen would get my vote.

They went to burgers only for their main food menu, 7 days a week, a few years back, albeit very good burgers.

They did however re-introduce roast dinners again on Sundays at the end of last year and I can testify it's a decent roast up!

Plus as you probably know you'll be tapping into one of the best beer selections in London.

I've had the roast at Cask. It's good.

The White Horse on Parsons Green is also worth looking into. The Earl of Essex's roasts aren't as impressive, but the ambiance is great (especially when the weather's cooperating).

Good to see you promoting the Cask again :grinning:

The White Horse was a fun place on one of my visits. It was near one of my friends and we spent a few evenings there. Never a sunday roast but im sure it would be great considering the other food was pretty good.

Ended up doing Hawksmoor, no beer regrets.

Another couple days on my trip but a couple thoughts: have hit up a bunch of the beer bars that have sprung up in the past 3 years or so. Everyone keeps trying to sell me on the latest and greatest saison/Berliner/AIPA. Yes, these new guys can brew some great keg beer, and I'm happy you all have access to it.

But man if it isn't boring. I'm certainly in the minority these days, but I mourn the sense of place beer had a few short years ago. The goal of brewers shouldn't be to.cater to tourists, but I certainly have little interest in going to a London pub and getting something that could have been brewed anywhere.

Enjoyed the Bermondsey Beer Mile. Think Brew by Numbers is a fantastic concept with some great things ahead of it. Also think A&H are doing a fantastic job with traditional styles.

Anyways, all this to say, congrats on the burgeoning scene guys, good stuff brewing, but the best pint I had was still a mild at the Harp... didn't cost me my first born either.

Oh, and "burgeoning" is a poor choice of words. It's a great scene. Simply meant there's a tonne of excitement from a group of folks who, to me at least, seemed new to craft beer.
