No, I saw it, I was just commenting in agreement. The post made me remember that situation and figured I would post my disdain for that method.

yeah...that didnt work so well the last time. i think the way troegs handled splinter black was one of my favorites. show up early, get a numbered wristband and they take down your name with the number on the band. then you come back later on in the day, show your wristband and pick up your bottles.

i'm also a fan of southampton releases as well with numbered order forms handed out ahead of time.

No drinking going on in these lines. People get there about 11-12 and it's on the main street with pretty heavy police traffic.

Just people being asshats, the guy should have just went with his buddy to the back of the line. 180 bottles with a 1 bottle limit, pretty easy to figure out if you will get shut out or not, which didn't happen to a single person in line.

If it. Is pretty easy to figure out that no one is going to get shut out, what is the big deal about letting the asshat stand with his friend?

Because he cut everyone else in line? I'll have to review my 2nd grade handbook here, but I think that's bad.

Well one issues is that they will be able to purchase the bottles in head of you. Provisions isn't really known for speedy check out... this could easily tack on another 10-15 minutes.

Don't forget a Tapout shirt to really complete the look and let people know what's up! :stuck_out_tongue:

The problem with the ticket idea that several people have mentioned is how do you find an employee crazy enough to stand in line 12 hours before the sale starts?

You pay said employee to do so. The result of this cost to the brewery is that folks appreciate the brewery's foresight and continue to be patrons.

Rotate employees in 3 hour shifts. Easy.

Offer a BA 2 bottles free of charge to do it, they get the beer they would wait in line for and it costs the brewery less than paying an employee for 12 hours.

It would be easier to just throw line cutters underneath passing busses, big rigs etc

I know that there were people waiting in line for at least an hour to get it. I was there a little before 12:30 and there were only like 10 people in line, and plenty of beer left. Yeah the guy who cut in line was a dick, and saying anything to him is probably not going to change that.
