I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on BA about this, but after 10 seconds of searching I got bored.

Anyway, what is the best beer you've had that was LESS than $2.00/bottle, preferably less than $1.50? Something you could buy for an entire party and not have to mortgage your house.

Mine was Breckenridge 72 Imperial Chocolate Cream Stout. This stuff is ONE DOLLAR a bottle, $5.99/6pack, cheap, cheap, cheap. Now I am one of the last people to complain about beer prices, but it is still nice to pick something up on the cheap once in a while. I rated this beer a solid 4.25/5 on BA, and for the money I doubt I'll ever find anything to rival it.

This is going to be subjective thread depending of definition.

Old Style - so many good times and great memories

Busch Signature - no shit. Surprised the heck out of me. Was given a blind glass pour. Not bad. At 8.50 a 12pk, was not the best beer I've had, not close, but for a cheapie, more taste than most.

My winner however is Warsteiner. At $12.99 a 12 pack, it is sessionable, tasty and a great value.

    Cheers!

Best "cheap" 12 oz.bottle I've had was Lagunitas Sucks at 9.99 for a sixer.
Best "cheap" bomber I've had was Hop Stoopid for $3.99.

Probably Yuengling. If you're having a party around here, this will please most people and is close to $1 a bottle.

Plenty. At the cheaper end is Sierra Nevada and New Belgium, SN for $1/12oz at case price, New Belgium for a couple dollars cheaper.

For $10-11/6, you could get any of these available to you- Stone, Founders, Deschutes, Great Divide, Lagunitas, O'Dell, Oskar Blues, Victory, DFH, Ballast Point, Summit, Schlafly, Boulevard, the list goes on.

Old Style Lager for over 30 years now. Don't drink it quite as often as I used to, but if I'm at a restaurant or bar that doesn't have a micro brew that interests me, I will get an Old Style.

Around the $1.50 range, Victory, Brooklyn and Sierra all come to mind. Specifically Headwaters, Brooklyn Summer and SNPA.

Widmer Upheaval is $6.99 a sixer here and thats pretty damn tasty. I've seen Laurelwood Workhorse for $7.99, also damn tasty.

Yuengling Traditional Lager and their Back and Tan Porter. Goes down good with burgers and hot dogs on a hot summer day! Plus 6 dollars a sixer doesn't hurt either.

If a $9 sixer is cheap then I'd probably go with Smuttynose IPA or something from Great Lakes.

A step down, Pilsner Urquell is about $7/six-pack around here and I maintain it's excellent.

Finally, if it were available year-round, Genny Bock at $8/twelve-pack would be in my fridge all the time.

Schlitz for me. Get it for about .80 a can in Southern California. The ultimate lawnmower beer.

Used to be able to get Victory Storm King for $10/6er. Pretty sweet.

Other vote would be pre-4pack Bigfoot.

I recently visited Washington state. On a short layover at the Portland airport, I tried an IPA by Laurelwood called Work Horse. Never even heard of Laurelwood but this was world class. Upon arriving in Spokane and visiting Total Wine I saw sixers of Work Horse for only 6.49. I picked up 2 and drank them that day. We have tons of awesome IPA's here in SoCal but absolutely nothing that good for that cheap.
