Chicagoland KBS sightings

That was a one time release. Unless Founders says otherwise, it won't be released again.

 

Last year a tiny shop held a 4-pack for me, no hassle. 4-packs sat on the shelf for half a week. This year the hoarders found it and cleared it out already.

 

BCBCS has ruined all other coffee stouts for me. Opened up a KBS '14 and BCBCS '13 last night and the KBS seemed mediocre by comparison

 

Yep, welcome to the sad, sad world of BCBS. . . once you try it, everything else is meh.

BCBS has a flavor that no other brewery can seem to replicate or even come close to.
Now, fresh 2014 coffee BCBS? Might as well just start fapping myself now, I feel it coming.

Had Sump a few times, most recently at Stout fest. It's very good, but it's no BCBCS. Now MBCP, thats whole nutha level stuff there.

 

I love me some BCBCS, especially the latest batch. I just think the coffee completely drowns out the stout flavors in the latest batch, as opposed to melding with them the way Sump did.

BCBCS 2013 is a very good bottle of cold press coffee. I would like the stout to come out more than it does, though. FWIW, it's my second favorite of last year's BCBS releases behind the barley wine.

 

In line at Buffalo Grove Binny's, manager just told half the line that they only have enough bottles for the first half of the line, gotta turn people away...

 

Gone (this morning) at the previously mentioned Prestige Liquors in Westmont.

 

$240 cash money for a case that cost them less than half of that. Such is life. I got my share of Backwoods Bastard, Plead the Fifth, Sucaba and Parabola there at close to standard retail over the past six months....

 

Saw 75 cases of KBS at Blue Goose...oh wait, April 1st was the other day...Never mind..I'll save that joke for next year...

... in all actuality, if you haven't seen it thus far...you probably won't as a vast majority of what's landed...seems to have come and gone...those that got shut out maybe able to swap for a bottle with some of those that were able to make 2, 3, 4 different stops on their journeys....

 

I'd put it on a par around regular Bourbon County Stout in terms of supply in the Chicago area. And like BCS, some stores sell it as a single with a major markup.
