Hey all, I'll be staying at the Hyatt in Newport Beach next week, and unfortunately won't have a car. Are there any can't miss beer spots within walking/bus/taxi/Uber/Lyft distance? I think I'm going to try Ti-Time in Costa Mesa for bottles to bring home. Would I be able to find any Russian River, Firestone Walker, or Lost Abbey stuff there? Also looking for anything else good that I can't get in Northern Kentucky and Southern OH. Thanks for any help.

You'll be within walking distance to the Whole Foods Market. They have 2 separate bars, each with multiple quality taps. (10-15 at each bar). Their bottle selection is also quite good. Especially for an out-of-towner that is out of our distribution area. Be sure to ask the beer guy if he has any special goodies kept in the back. Additionally, you can purchase any bottle in the store and consume it with your meal at any of the eating areas. Enjoy!

I agree that the Whole Foods in Fashion Island has a pretty solid selection of bottles as well as stuff on tap - you'll definately be able to get Lost Abbey and Firestone, and while they do carry Russian River, they usually keep it in the back unless it's Damnation which they put out if they have it. In terms of other stuff that's pretty close by (5 minute Uber or cab), there's the Crow Bar (gastro pub), which almost always has either Blind Pig or Pliny on tap and the Side Door (another gasto pub) which has a solid/rotating tap selection. If you look at other threads you'll get a ton of other recommendations (Beachwood, Bruery, etc.), but nothing close (i.e., closer than a half hour away, at least).

Other southern California breweries worth checking out that you can't get in Kentucky: Modern Times and Pizza Port. Whole Foods should have cans of both of these, and are also likely to have something from one of them on draft in the tavern.

Korker Liquor on PCH is also a spot a lot of people overlook. They always have Cascade, Almanac, and Bruery sours on hand. Take a short cab ride to Crow Bar for lunch, drink your Plinys, then walk a block over to Korker and buy your sours.

Ok, one more question for you guys. If my beloved UK Wildcats beat Wisconsin on Saturday, where would be the best place around Newport Beach to watch the championship game on Monday? I need somewhere with decent TVs, a great draft selection, edible food, and doesn't mind if someone screams at a TV occasionally. I was thinking Yard House, but please let me know if there are better options. I noticed Crow Bar has a couple TVs, but it seems like a more quiet atmosphere.

Crowbar or wholewoods are your best options for the game.
