True, I am all about trying the different ones so then I will have an idea of what I want to hunt for. Thanks Jive!

Just trade a 4 pack away, you'll still have 24 and you may find something you like even more.
    Yep it's my first one.
That was an april fools joke lol, and not a very good one.

imo, KBS and BCBS are two pretty different beers. kbs has never had that super boozy thing going on like BCBS, especially the '13 BCBS. it stands to reason that if you really liked the '13 BCBS, you might find the KBS a bit underwhelming, especially given the hype.

At huna day I managed to have just finished a DB huna when the KBS came out. Now that was a difference...

Yeah the only other time I tried it was the '13 at huna day, and IMO it tasted much better with age on it

Are you me? I have been reading this thread and was just about to post something very close to this, adding that I have been drinking both for 8-9 years.

WF in Naples sold out in one day, 4pk limit; i missed it. Got my single bottle at TW Naples they sold out this morning.

Does founders use breakfast stout as the base before aging in bourbon barrels? If so, it seems like the coffee would drop off significantly by the time the barrel aging is complete.

Yes, I think KBS is "Kentucky Breakfast Stout"

I seem to remember reading in another thread that Founder's specifically says KBS is NOT just an FBS base aged in bourbon barrels. Apparently it's a totally different base & beer.

I'm not crazy about noir, haven't had bible belt, but I LOVE bomb!

I personally prefer Bomb! over KBS, but they are different.

Ive got all the stuff coming (Bible Belt, Black Note and BOMB!) and will probably do a crazy side by side with BCS and KBS . What would be great is to get find someone who hasnt had any of them to rank em.

We all have our preferences. As of now, my favorite has been Pirate BOMB. That beer is no joke

I personally thought BCBS was too hot when I first had it. That was my first BB stout, I bet if I had KBS I would have preferred it.

Any idea about the price? I'm like 5 minutes from Oblivion atm but I'm not trying to spend a ton of money on a single bottle.

Update # 2....drinking a '14 Black Note and its stellar, kind of in between KBS and BCBS. Its obvious Bells used Heaven Hill barrels as it tastes almost identical to BCBS except that its thinner and theres a little less oak flavor but not much. Definitely the most balanced out of the 3.[IMG][IMG]
