I like doing this. I usually have some less desirable beers in my fridge so if im running low I can kick up a sam adams my cutting it with a double dog. That way I can turn one good beer into 2 decent beers. This also makes a high abv beer like double dog more sessionable. This is probably blasphemy in the eyes of many but to hell with them. If it makes you happy DO IT. I also do the black and tan thing as well. Half a founders imperial stout and half a dirtwolf makes a tasty black ipa

I don't usually mix beers, but when I do I drink a Chocolate Milk by a bartender-friend at Naja's Place in Redondo. Equal parts (I think) Santa's Little Helper, Campfire Stout, and Murphy's Irish Stout. Another friend convinced me to try it one afternoon (it wasn't hard to do), I did, and it blew me away. Had to take a pic it was so good. Here it is:

I've seen people do it . . . but I've never done it. :astonished:

I actually have some Goose Island IPA and Victory HopDevil in my fridge. Both of which are relatively fresh and I've had both aforementioned beers numerous times in the past. Thinking about going half-and-half with the two and seeing where that gets me. Perhaps "Devil Island" might be a winner?

I haven't done much of this but would be interested to hear what has worked for others. I tried Breakfast Sucks recently (half FBS half Sucks), and it was okay, but not as good as either separately. At Hunahpu Day we were mixing Mexican Cake and Good Gourd Almighty, which made a much better beer IMO. Unfortunately those aren't exactly laying around to try regularly.

I added a shot of kasteel rouge to a founders breakfast stout last week. Cherry breakfast stout was great.

I once mixed a FBS with an imperial pumpkin ale. Interesting results, I may have to try it again when the pumpkin ales come back.

Guys, I got 2 New Glarus fruit beers. Which one should I blend with a '14 KBS? Serendipity or Strawberry Rhubarb (I'm thinking Serendipity).

Founders Breakfast Stout with Rubaeus is the best one I've encountered.

FBS with Bourbon County creates something similar to KBS.

I also enjoyed BCBS with Rubaeus.

In general, I find that combining unbalanced beers to make a more well rounded end product is what works. Sweet, bitter, very coffee froward, very fruit forward, etc.

    My blending suggestion is, don't.

If you must why not just mix creme brûlée and Indra kunindra? I personally enjoy both beers but maybe they'll work together.

Once in a while I'll screw with a beer but rarely blend two together . Recently I couldn't choke down an entire 750 of Black Tuesday so I corked it then came back the next day and did about 4oz with chipotles steeped in it and another 4 with hazelnut liquor added. Both I think were improvements on the base beer.

I actually like Indra Kunindra but can't think of anything it'd go with, beverage-wise.

Save the Creme Brûlée and use it for ice cream topping or for floats at your Memorial Day cookout or what have you.
