Toledo, Ohio Beer Scene?

    I've heard Liquor Cabinet is pretty great, I haven't been up there yet though.

    I like to hit a number of stores. Most of the time I find my sixers at Anderson's Maumee.

    Also:

    Pauken Wine and Liquor (When I'm at the Mexican place next door)
    Walt Churchill's (They are the only place in town I've seen Three Floyd's on the shelf)
    Holloway Beverage (Hidden gem. They got two cases of KBS this year, sold single bottles first come first serve. Also worth checking out their growler fills)
    Anderson's Sylvania (Amazing import selection. Their special releases are small allocations, but the guy running the department is great)
    Joseph's Beverage (Huge, varied selection, but I never seem to really buy anything from here. Not sure why)
    Anderson's Talmadge (But only for limited releases, I don't care for their selection otherwise)
    Marino's (Best selection and prices in town. However, I've gotten a couple of terse comments when I ask about new releases. I'm new to your store because I'm new to town, not because I chase limited stuff)
    Flick's (Expensive and overpriced. However, because of that, you may find a limited Short's release still on the shelf)
    Liquor Cabinet (Great staff. Good prices. Will hold limited releases via their website. I go here almost once a week for Michigan only beer)

    For bars:

    Swig, The Local, Barr's, Caper's, Bier Stube (had a PITCHER of Gumballhead last night!!!)

    The Andersons on Talmadge is my go-to, due to its convenient location, good selection, and friendly service. Marino's is a close runner-up, with great prices and a better selection than Andersons. And I always seem to find stuff at the Andersons in Maumee that I can't find elsewhere, though it's pretty out of the way for me.

    Come on out to Marinos, great selection and low prices. Andersons on talmadge is a pretty good place to check out also.

    Hey Toledo's not that bad unless you are there in the winter and just get a ton of snow dumped like this year. Just uhh don't go to the East side haha.

    I love Maumee Bay Brewing Company and Tony Packo's. Everything else in Toledo can burn in hell. Went to college there. Bad move. At least I got to use the medical campus during my last year. That got me out of the cesspool main campus. Everything about Toledo besides the 2 places mentioned makes me want to vomit.

    I understand that you had bad experiences in Toledo when you lived here. I myself stay as far away from the UT campus as I can. But if you are this closed minded about the area, then I'd rather not hear your opinion.

    Haven't been there personally, but found them thru beermenus.com and the tap list looks really good. I plan on swinging by either Wed or Thur or maybe even both nights.

    Fair enough. I try to stay positive, but some expierences make it very hard. I forgot to mention that I love every one who works at Joe's beverage center. They are great there.

    Moving on. Who has any new information regarding Maumee Bay distribution? As you all know, they had a falling out with Cavalier shortly after initiating their first distribution last year. Last I heard, they were starting to negiotiate with another distributor to get the ball rolling again. I would love to see TE and AB flowing around Ohio again. TE is better than FBS and AB is an exceptional IIPA. Both are so good. I miss drinking MBBC at the brew pub with my beer cheese soup!

    Make sure to order the Cold Hot Dip at Doc Watson's.

    And if you feel like a little adventure, try The Local on Thursday. They are only open during the weekend and have no food, but they are a true craft beer bar. Get there before 8pm for nice quiet conversation, or stop by later for a good crowd and local live music.

    Marino's has it for sure. So does Anderson's Maumee. I'd guess the other Anderson's do as well.

    If you go to Marino's, head into the cooler and walk left immediately. If I remember correctly it's in the front left corner near the Left Hand stuff.
