KBS and/or Black Note In Florida

Only bottles (one case) at Brass Tap Lakeland, unless something has changed since they put the event page up and I missed it.

 

To keep myself sane and some faith in the beer community I am just going to hit "ignore" and hope this thread gets back to talking about KBS the beer, not KBS the epic chance to beer hoard.

 

All these beer hoarders must be single guys. If I came home with a case of beers, my wife would not be happy.

Nope, you are correct. I read the post too quickly and assumed they got a keg. Not true. With only 1 case I'm not sure I'll make the effort - though a potential glass would be a nice addition. I've got 2 bottles in the fridge and I'm sure they'll charge $12+/bottle there. Maybe i'll try and swing a glass but try a Centennial on tap? Yup, that's a good plan.

 

1st: you re-sold Hunas?!
2nd: so because "a lot of people" would it makes it alright?!
3rd: stores all over the country take lists, create "lotteries", etc. They have the right to sell to whoever they want, and quite frankly they would be smart to tell you truck chasers to bug off and take care of the regulars who keep their lights on. The irony in you complaining about a guy who took advantage of an opportunity to secure a case while you truck chase around town buying everything while others work is laughable. What rules are you even talking about?

Buying rules are for non-regulars. Us regulars that support local stores don't wait in lines. I get called or emailed with notice to come pickup my allotment. That's good business, IMO. Maybe that's not the norm around the country…but it should be.

This is complete and utter BS I didn't get into Huna day until about 1:00 PM maybe 2:00 PM. The line was so ridiculous that I immediately got in line for my 3 bottles. Not a sip of beer touched my lips until about 3:30PM. This is simply because a few great BA's from CO had a little bottle share going and let me join them to avoid the madness that was the rest of the fest. Even as I was in the line to get in I could see the hoards of people standing and sitting in front of the warehouse where Huna was being sold.

Sorry for being so lengthy, by I feel that the point should be made.

 

So, about that Black Note in Florida...

 

Just did a twitter search for Black Note and some retailers in GA posted that they will have it tomorrow morning. Perhaps some stores will be getting it here in Florida tomorrow as well? <crossing fingers> I really want to try this beer for the first time.

 

I just hope I have a chance to even search, this release a case at 10 am on a weds thing sucks...

 

i'm sure ryman will snag a case to share with all of us.

 

The longer I wait, the more I regret not trading for Black Note.

Stupid me thinking that I'll be able to track it down... now I'm getting nervous.


If anyone gets extra Black Note that didn't get KBS, let me know...

 

I sent a message to one of the craft beer guys I know that works for JJ Taylor in Tampa. He's asking their buyer if they are getting any and they got some when the 2012 was out, so I'll keep the thread updated when I find out any info

If no one has tried it, I don't have any real plan on going to CCB anytime soon but I can bring a bottle or 2 of the '14 to share. Maybe someone can bring a KBS and BCBS to compare

Haha I scanned through the thread and that was the question on my mind. Anybody know of this around the Orlando or Daytona beach areas? I'd like to give it a go before I move out west and have a whole new set of breweries to try.

 

I live in Ocala and NO cases were reserved for anyone! I know both store managers WELL, and each store only got one case. You @ryman546, bought the only case at the one store. The other store, no one got a whole case either. I got a 4 pk, two people behind me bought 2 bottles each, etc.
Also, the Bourbon County was on shelves for WEEKS!!! Every case they got, 6 total, hit the floor. I bought 4 times over 2 weeks it sat on the floor.
The $50 for KBS in Gainesville, I bought that! I didn't "hassle" anyone, I asked if they wanted to sell, he sold. It was one guy, who took two friends in with him that didn't even know what KBS even was, I heard him telling them by the cooler what to ask for at the counter. I bought it to DRINK, where he was having them buy it to sell. I had the money, made the offer, he sold, pretty simple.

Now... Black Note...Trever said he doubts we see any, or very little at all in our area. We might, but as of last Thursday, he didn't know of any. Not sure about other parts of Florida, hopefully it makes it this way.
I do have a couple of extra Black Note 2014 I would trade if none make it this way.
