KBS and/or Black Note In Florida

i'd stab every one of you in the face with a spoon for two cases of life is like.

 

i felt the same way RayUF. a friend of mine brought up a bottle to share from orlando last weekend and i thought the KBS lacked barrel qualities. very similar to regular breakfast stout. maybe with some age it would improve, but probably not by much.

 

Any news on Black Note? I was gonna ask some shops around tampa today.

 

Stop lying to save face. You had at least three people mule you bottles, one of which got you an entire case from the brewpub alone. I know him personally, so don't even try to discount that. That's not even counting any bottles you bought on your own from when it hit distro. I could care less if you bought nine cases, because it's not mules I can't stand, it's hypocrites. Glad you enjoyed all the life is like though. It would've been a shame if you didn't...you know..after buying so much and all.

 

I think Life is Like is way too sweet personally.

I am not trying to save face at all. 3 people mule me bottles? you want to inform me who those 3 people are? Yes the guy got me a case at the brewpub (actually if you wanna get technical, he got me 11 bottles) and I am not discoutning anything or anyone. Sorry I do not live in the greater tampa area to be able to go down to pick up stuff from CCB when it is released, or hit up the great beer stores that get some of their limited distribution stuff. So, I did not get any bottles via distribution. Lake County, where I live, has 1 place that gets good craft beer, and he did not get any Life is Like. I have throughly enjoyed life is like every time i have gotten the chance to try it, wehther it be the bottles i have opened or the bottles that I have tried of somebody elses. Call me what yo u want to...I could really care less because i know that i have been able to send the Life is like, along with many other beers from CCB, to people that would have never been able to try it, so you can call me a hypocrite, or bash me however you want. it wont bother me any.

Black Note will see very limited distribution in Florida.

 

It's good but nowhere near what it trades for, that's for sure. Fruit stouts in general...meh

KBS in Lakeland: the Brass Tap @ Lakeside Village is selling their 1 case tonight at 7:00pm and they are charging $17.50 per bottle!!!!!

Is this what you guys are seeing for at bar prices of this stuff?!

 

Oh no I had it on tap for $8. That's outrageous!!!!

The irony is that I purchased a bottle from two spots locally with NO hassle for $5.50 and $6.49. The one spot had more bottles than requests and will probably put a sign out next week to sell them!

 

So JJ Taylor handles Bell's for SW FL and North FL accounts, who's doing Bell's for SE FL?

 

Thanks for the heads up. Got my 1 bottle and there are 3 left. Could have bought all 4 as there was no one there working who was familiar with the term, "bottle limit", but I took my 1. Figure I did my good deed for the yr.

I tweeted a guy that works for Total Wine Corporate (one of their beer guys) and asked if SoFL TW stores would be getting Black Note and if he knew when and he replied "None. In fact our system indicates SoFLa's Bell's Distributor doesn't even carry it when it comes out." That's not encouraging.

 

Missed it because I got free Lightning tickets. Apparently I made a wise choice.
