Variety description at Hop Union. Here's the video of of Garrett Oliver discussing this new variety, which was used in Brooklyn's Scorcher IPA. I have used some to dry hop an IPL and it was a quite enjoyable tropical fruit citrus aroma.
Except for the green pepper part, it sounds pretty good. Also apple could come off as a fault in the brewing process.
I quite liked the brewdog IPA made from it. certainly better than many of their other IPA is Dead series
I was pretty pleased with 366 in the Brett IPA and DIPA that I brewed last year. Not as distinct as some aroma hops (it smells like a big bowl of mixed fruit) but it gives a ton of aroma/flavor from small amounts.
Here are my notes from Scorcher which I had last year: S - very, very nice nose. Orange, citrus, grapefruit, a little pine, maybe some tropical fruit as well. Maybe even a little grape. T - oh. oh. this went wrong really fast. I have NEVER had an IPA that smelled so good and tasted so different. Very little hop flavor, bitterness, malt flavor. Very watery. A bit of diacetyl, maybe even vegetal/DMSey. This is a weak IPA. Very disappointing. I might not have rated it this low, except the aroma was so exciting. What happened here? Not even sure how this happened. I think I'll pass on this hop, thanks.
