No amounts of Prairie are worth stepping into Norman.

I don't know. Maybe Ardmore has something.

It's kind of funny/sad how the regular Prairie lineup sits on the shelves for months in Houston, but the second it includes any of the Houston buzzwords like barrel aged, imperial, or fruit sour everyone goes crazy trying to hoard it. Somewhere is awesome, and the same shipment has been here since like August. Does adding cherries somehow turn the beer nobody wants into the elixir of the gods?

Do you think that is different in any other city in any other state? Beer people will go after a BA version of anything quicker than a standard release of a beer.

Or, some of us don't like saison's yet enjoy stouts such as Bomb and the Noir varients.

There's more to it than that.

I've spent a few hundos on Prairie thus far. But the vast majority of that is for Bomb/Noir/Variants. There's a few reasons:
    • I can trade B/N/V. Somewhere is a great extra to throw in, but it's not a trade request. (i.e. it's not just Houstonians that want the big names.) Thus, I'm going to buy more so that I have more trade opportunities.
    • I freaking love 'Merica. But that 750ml makes me sad. I'm rarely going to drink an entire wine bottle full of beer alone, even one as delicious as 'Merica. Can't bring it to shares, so that significantly decreases the likelihood of me purchasing it. Honestly, the same goes for 500ml bottles - though they're better, I'm much more likely to open a bottle of Bomb than a bottle of Somewhere.
    • Demand drives demand. I actually do have most of the regular lineup in my fridge right now, and when I drink one, I can pick up a replacement when I go to Spec's (which I do too frequently). B/N/V, on the other hand, I have to buy as much as I can when it hits because a day later it'll sell out. Obviously this is a vicious cycle.
That said, 750s of a cherry funk beer sound awesome and I'll want a few. But only a few. The 750 problem exists for this beer as well. They may end up with high trade value, but it'll be hard for me to justify this gamble, as opposed to with B/N/V where the gamble was obvious - if people don't want them, I have a ton of delicious single-serving beers. Win-win.

Oh. Is it possible that it says 1 pt 0.9 oz (without the missing zero) and not 1 pt 9 oz? It's hard to tell from the picture.

    So I assume it's a 500ml?

Prairie makes nothing but amazing beers so what's so hard to understand that people want to try something new by them.

WTKeene, I don't know the closest, but the best is Biergarten just outside Tulsa! Worth the drive.

Remember, no beer on sundays in OK.

    Here's Prairie's distro map: http://prairieales.com/retailers/

It doesn't look like there's a store much closer, except OKC, maybe:

    Freemans
    Byron's
    Grand Cru
    2nd Street Wine
    Moore Liquor
    The Cellar
    Broadways Wine Merchants
    Cork and Bottle
    Sean's Wine and Spriits

Looks like a solid store, but I think its closer to Kansas City than Dallas. Wish I had the free time.

I think that I am going to make a run up to Tulsa next Saturday. Pickup a bunch of Prairie's stuff. Anything else worth getting up there. I think I am going to get a couple of cases.
