My white whale remains CBS, but I can confidently add something else to this list. Lawson's Maple Tripple Ale is an expensive beer (about $25 bucks for 11-12 ounces) but I had the opportunity at the farmer's market in 2013. The issue I had was that I didn't bring enough cash, so I only grabbed Chinooker'd and Double Sunshine (I know, poor me), but I never was able to enjoy the fermented maple that is Lawson's Maple Tripple. I hope to come across this at some point this year.

here is a real white whale... never to be seen again: coconut speedway stout

the other for me is more recent and potentially attainable: bourbon county coconut

Mine is DDG. I've tried to trade for it so many times I've given up. Some things are just not meant to be.

Mine was KBS, but I finally got it this year. Time to move on to the next hunt.

Prairie Bomb! has been on tap 3-4 times around here but I can't speak for the rest of the country. Plus, it's not nearly as hard to get as BCBS variants, KBS or Black Note which don't even distribute to this region of the country. Granted BCBS was offered a couple years ago and Founders just started distro this year after KBS launched in the rest of the country, and we'll probably never see Bells. Bomb! is good but the last couple iterations haven't been up to par, because the coffee and chile were covered up by chocolate/vanilla and almost nonexistent in the latest batch,

Im happy to report that I have traded for and drank both of these now!
My whale after these was Hommage, which I ticked about a month ago. Compared to Framboos, it was a massive letdown. I don't know that I have a (semi-obtainable) whale anymore. If I had to go with a most likely never gonna happen whale, it would be Don Quijote for sure.

On the never going to happen list:
    DFH White and Black Lodge

    Slightly More Likely:
    Blabaer

    Much More Likely:
Habanero Sculpin (I was so excited they started bottling this because this has been one of my biggest wants for a long time)

Well I've personally had more luck getting the BCBS variants than I have Bomb. I've got BCBSBW, Proprietors and Cherry Rye all in my cellar, but no Bomb.

It just depends on who you know and what you've got to deal, man.

The number of beers on this that are not whales... Just... cmon people just because you can't walk into a store and buy it doesn't make it a whale.
