You know....not a whole lot of really big stouts, especially barrel aged, that don't taste great after some time laying down. I'll get back to you on the Avery Uncle Jacob's, something tells me its just going to get better and better

Surly Darkness! Have had it anywhere from fresh to about 2 years old and it seems like the old the better. Of course, each year is a bit different though.

Wow. No DL yet. I have it back to 2008, and love it back and forth across the board. I know there are haters, and it hasn't been around all THAT long, but what's up with that?

    Anyway, DL.

So is the general consensus that Stone IRS is good to age or no, picked up 5 today and was going to get more in order to age and drink at different years.

Well, it is the second-most recommended beer to age among this unrepresentative sampling of cellar-ers. One-third of respondents mentioned having positive experiences after cellaring IRS. Whether that qualifies as a "general consensus" or not is up to you.

If ten beer geeks told you that they've had good experiences with aged Stone IRS, would you give it a try?

Stouts being my all time favorite style I have a few i like to age, GI BCBS, Stone IRS, recently had an Expedition with only 1 yr on it and it was great, Founders IS, Abyss, Brooklyn Choc Stout, DFH WWS (i think it needs 3 yrs IMO, KBS and i'm going to try to cellar some of the new re-released Courage since i heard great things about that

i dont think anyone mentioned DFH Palo Santo, much better with 2 yrs on it.
