I love both brewers and beers. I agree with the masses on this one, that Nugget Nectar is a slightly superior beer. Like dbc5 I get excited around this time of year because Nugget Nectar is being released and I don't do the same for Celebration. Special shout out to NJBeerNerd, he is my Nugget Nectar hook up.

Nugget Nectar has a different taste than Celebration to me. NN is more hop-forward, where the Celebration is a less intense, more balanced beer. But to each their own.

I think they are very different from each other. Love them both but I would chose fresh Nugget Nectar over fresh Celebration ale anyday.

I wish I could say from experience. I quite enjoy Celebration but have never had the pleasure of tasting the infamous Nugget Nectar.

    ISO: (free) Nugget Nectar

these 2 beers couldnt be any different, celebration one of the 2 best single ipas in the world, consistent every year. nn the last 2 years i would have rated 3 of 5, this year's 6, worst beer ive had this year. last one drain poured, and i dont drain pour anything.

Add me to the list that also enjoys NN a lot more than Celebration. Not a huge fan of Celebration, but I do really enjoy NN.

I really don't see the similarities, at all. I definitely prefer NN, but I like Celebration.

NN doesn't have all those delicious spices in it..... somebody had to.

Another vote for 'quite different, but both tasty'. My preference is for Celebration.

Celebration has almost zero spices in it anymore. Haven't you heard they keep cutting them back year after year?

nugget nectar has a stronger malt flavor and citrus hop flavor in my opinion. they really match the malt sweetness perfectly with the citrus and floral hop flavor. not nearly as piney or bitter as celebration.

NN tastes like hop candy to me whereas Celebration tastes like a typical well-made IPA.

I have never had a NN that tases like Celebration or a Celebration that tastes like NN.

I would take a NN over Celebration but I do like Celebration.

It's because Sierra Nevada is so big and corporate now. I know I'm only in the 10% of people on BA who think that a big brewery = a bad brewery, but the decreasing spice profile in Celebration proves it!

    Take that Sam!!!!

To Etan and UCLABrewN84: I'm always leary of making this joke because I fear I am perpetuating the myth.

    Nugget Nectar ≠ SN Celebration

I have to give the edge to NN in comparing these very different beers. At the price point, however, I drink boatloads more celebration than I do NN, especially now that it can be had for $17.50/case locally.
