Firestone Walker Sucaba (2014, Batch 004)

Sucaba has come and (mostly) gone in MA. I haven't seen Parabola yet though, and am looking!

where?!? only saw one place with it in Silver Spring, and they were asking $29 a bottle. i refuse to pay that much, so i'm still searching. any and all insights appreciated!

 

Its only a tuna, no whale machine or harpoons needed, just a couple well placed nets, and you should get some on the boat.

 

All the places with reasonable prices had to have sold out weeks ago. I bought 2 at Laurel Total Wine and 1 at Old Line in Beltsville about a month or so ago. Still hasn't hit DC.

 

Still 3 places in my area with Sucaba left. Most around $15 but one at $22. I'm sure at that price it'll sit for a while.

 

Apparently, my nets had holes this year. Sadly, I didn't even come close...

 

anybody seen it in CO yet? got parabola a few weeks ago, but have not seen sucaba anywhere (except on tap last week).

 

It came out back in February, haven't seen any since.

 

I've got almost unlimited access to §ucaba if anyone wants to trade (including limited amounts of 2013, and one 2012, though that one's pretty pricey).

 

I wrote an email to Firestone Walker about the lack of Sucaba in MD/DC/VA and how Parabola hit before a word was spoken about Sucaba. I have a very hard time believing the response I received in the email because I haven't heard anything about anyone in our area getting a bottle this year. The VIP customers that received bottles must not be BA's. Here's the email response I received.

"I contacted the sales rep for that area and he said that Sucaba did indeed make it out there, however it was unfortunately such a small allocation that most stores only got 6 bottles. My honest guess is store owners either kept bottles for themselves or just sold it to some VIP customers, with little to no advertising. I understand your frustration as this does not seem fair, but that beer is very limited for us and we’re still just a lil’ ol brewery in California trying to keep up with demand.

That's interesting... Brewers Association has them at 16 in sales (https://www.brewersassociation.org/...rs-association-lists-top-50-breweries-of-2013). I understand compared to SN, Lagunitas and Stone they might be small but they are still pretty big in sales. Not an excuse... Limited beer for them I can see, but don't play the "small brewery" card.

 

I, too, snagged a couple extra in case people could find any and wanted to trade, so please feel free to holler if you're looking!

Also, anyone knw the SOP for Sucaba <---> Parabola trades?

 

I'm in Western NY. Found a couple bottles of Sucaba, but haven't seen any Parabola at all.

Total Wine in McLean had it today along with Parabola. They just got a half case of Sucaba, I think three of Parabola, and I was told that most other TW stores won't be getting Sucaba.
