Love those cities/towns. Glad to see you're taking full advantage and getting out to drink in these world-class beer destinations. They are all around you -- if not necessarily right on top of you (with Stuttgart!). Enjoy the ride...looks like you are so far!

we hit Cantillon and Sint Sixtus... however we didn't quite connect with Half Maan in Bruges. Oh well, we drank their beer anyways.

    In "f*ckin" Bruges

    Cantillon is always amazing!
Jean opened a 3L of gueuze when we were there, which was quite cool. I can highly recommend visiting Pierre at Tilquin, great guy and De Struise, which is only 5km from Sint Sixtus.
Id also recommend hitting Ghent next time. Do not worry, you did not miss out on anything by not visiting Halve Maan, rather lack luster beers imo.

Cool - thx for the tips. After this trip I know we will most defiantly be going back fairly often. I mean, the beer, the chocolate, the countryside... it's the total package. And yes, Ghent is next on the list for sure.

On a nice day, though, Halve Maan is a nice tour. They take you up on the roof and you get a nice view of the town. You know, the bell tower can be a little narrow for us Americans. :grinning:

Not for this quasi-American... everything in moderation:wink:

But yes, I agree, I was there on a nice day and it can be enjoyable, but it is similar to going to Guiness, the view is great, but you just paid $20 to drink a Guiness;(... however the vapid beers detract considerably from the experience...and I prefer Ghent:slight_smile:

I bought it again yesterday. That fabulous Getränkemarkt in Mainz is only about 1 km from my new work, so I could easily go there during my lunch break. This time that box was down to € 5 + deposit...

Accourding to the feedback on Faceebook, it seem's like there coming 5-7 "DRAFTS" next weekend (2 are still "maybe" because of work schedules). - looking forward to it.

When is the exact starting time to be at your brewery, the poll only say "afternoon"?

    Greetings Markus

    Luckily my wife doesn't share.

She threatened to kick my ass if I didn't take the couple bottles of her precious Lefthand Nitro out of the stash I plan on bringing with us tomorrow.

Any plans to go to the UK and drink cask ales/stouts? Maybe the wife will get her fix there, too?

We do want to hit up the UK at some during our years here. The the wife is defiantly a stout loving girl, so we may be visiting sooner rather than later. Luckily we can easily get round trip airline tix to London for less than $100 round trip, ea.
