Bottle Share- Saturday 5/24

    Just checking if there is any interest in having a bottle share at the soon-to-be The Growler Guys location (Grand Central Building) in SE PDX?

    That will be about a week before we officially open, but plan to do a couple of soft openings, one of which I would like to have is a BA'er bottle share. Figure around 6pm on Sat 5/24. I'll get some pizzas from Sparky's for the crowd and/or Mexican food from the taqueria next door....sorry, no Subway allowed.

    Let me know if there is any interest and I'll get things better organized.

    Sounds cool, but you definitely got my curiosity... whats with the subway beef?
    Also, what kind of license? my better half is really feeling left out of things with the new baby. he's mellow and quiet.

    he probably doesnt like rubber in his bread, or would prefer to support local establishments... just conjecture though.

    As a native New Yorker whose mother worked in a NY deli for 30+ years....let's just say Subway isn't my cup of tea. People will be welcome to bring in food from there...I just won't be picking up that particular tab. :slight_smile:

    Unfortunately our license is the same as many of the other spots around town. No minors as we won't have any food prepared on-premises. Would rather focus on only serving great craft beer & cider as opposed to getting involved with the whole food aspect.

    Sounds good to me too. There is a chance I may go to Bend for Memorial Day weekend though.

    I'm most likely in. Timbers are playing away starting at 4p, so the timing will work out well.

    Would love to come, but can't make it that particular Saturday (as we'll definitely be in Bend that weekend).

    Will try to make it for the "official" opening if at all possible!

    No theme at this point...but was thinking of maybe having some growlers sent in from across the country to share...maybe others can do likewise(?), along with the regular bottle share.

    I find it somewhat humorous that we all want to support local establishments by having a bottle share where virtually all the beer will be from somewhere far, far away! That said, Subway sucks.

    Will have an update next week as the build-out process gets closer to completion. If things stay on course, the 24th should work...any hiccups might push the date back a few days.

    I appreciate all the interest...will keep everyone advised.
