I love me some revolution. Anti-Hero is one of my favorite IPA's, and I love A Little Crazy. I just think Bean Gene wasn't all that great. I didn't like the carbonation level/body and I didn't think there was much coffee. I don't think it was an expectation thing (I rarely hype beer, I am not much of a whale chase, don't trade, and my favorite style right now is lagers), I just don't think my taste buds liked the beer very much for the given reasons. But hey, drinking beer is highly subjective and that's why plenty of people do like that beer, plus I bought a second bottle and will give it another try. I will still keep drinking Revolution, including the occasional barrel offering.

No, they were charging $22.99 plus tax, was listed as that on Beermenus and that's what I paid for also their "last bottle" from under the counter on Saturday.

I haven't had it from the bottle, but it was good on tap at the brewpub. Good coffee presence without being overbearing. The body is what it is -- definitely a porter rather than a stout. The Eugene base beer is a little thin for a porter from the getgo, so I totally understand being let down. Compared to Eugene I think Bean Gene is leaps and bounds better.

    I also agree it isn't worth $19.99...

Ha, that place is notorious for high prices but I couldn't get a single bottle of parabola so I just paid and didn't look at the receipt....and it's also weird that parabola was behind the counter and were selling at least us, their "last bottle". Typically they always put most limited stuff out with bottle limits or whatever, I hate when places like that keep it behind the counter not priced out.

Same here, it was the first bottle I've been able to get this year too, and it wasn't until he rang it up, and at that point, I wasn't going to argue. They have a couple things that are priced well, but others that I just can't see why they are so much different than every other bottle shop.
