I'm just curious about how these ones usually go. I've seen mention that there are lines at these. Are the people who are in line just there to buy bottles and then leave? If you are already in the restaurant having beers at the bar, once 5pm or later hits can you just buy some bottles or do they make you get in the line to purchase bottles? So far I haven't heard anyone complain about the releases, but with a Citra-hopped beer coming out all hell could break loose.

Now, you have to get in line to buy the beer (if you're at the restaurant or bar). For the past IPA releases it hasn't been a shitshow, but this one could be different since it's a Citra beer. I usually get there around 430 with no problems, and if you're inside and in line, you can have a beer.

So unless one's really worreid about bottles not lasting beyond those people in the line, the best course (time permitting) would be to hang out in the restaurant, enjoy dinner and some beers, and buy the bottles on the way out (much past 5pm) when the line would have died down?

yeah. it also wouldn't hurt to find out what the bottle count/limit is.

I doubt this one is going to be all that much of a shitshow compared to releases like Tovarish or 8 Buffalo. But yeah, you do have to wait in the actual line. Like Koger said, if you're there early enough, you can easily just be the first 10 or so that are in line inside of the place and enjoy your beer and what not.

I wouldn't worry about selling out on night 1 either, has there been any of the IPA releases that were gone that same night? Even with this being the first time it's released.

For the most part, the 5pm releases have run pretty smoothly and the line is usually squashed quickly enough.

There's also the store options for those who can't get to either Beachwood location. Means waiting a few more days, but not the worst thing if you still want to grab a bottle or two a little bit closer to where you live.

The biggest incentive to roll in early is the happy hour priced food, tbh. I agree, there's no other reason to show up early anyway unless you have such issues with waiting outside while the Ms. sits by and watches your food get cold for 15 minutes as you work through the line.

Beers won't sellout on the first day, however some dudes have been going hard on those fried pickles.

Or traffic depending on where you're coming from. But that happy hour is the best.

I've been to last 3-4 bottle releases. They have yet to sell out of the beer that same day. You can probably show up around 7 PM avoid any lines and walk out or stick around and grab a couple pints.

The 8 Buffalo release wasn't a shit show at all. They did run out of the draft pretty quickly but I believe they only had 5 gallons. You could buy bottles days later. Though that may have to do with the price tag.

Beachwood 7 bottles sold out night of. I'd have to assume that there will be more of this beer though.

I must have worded my statement wrong. Because I agree with you on all accounts. NONE of the releases at Beachwood have been bad at all, is what I'm trying to say.

Ahh, gotcha. I read it as you saying those two releases were shit shows.

nah. Been to most every Beachwood release and they've all been very chill. If there is a line, it's squashed fairly quickly and even for the BA stuff, it last all night at the very least

Do you really think that many (or any) guys who would line up for this have a "Ms." (or at least one who would let an unattended plate of food sit long enough to go cold)?!?

Are there any 20 min parking zones where I could just swoop and scoop up my bottles?

Park in the parking structure across the street or in the alleyway next to BW. Get your card stamped.

The first 2 hours are free at the parking structure across from Beachwood; the one on 3rd Street and remember they are closed on Mondays.
