Anybody who knows me here knows that I am a big hater of the 5pm releases from BW. Don't understand why not just have it available when they open at 1130am. When ABC does their special releases they do it at opening. I know BW does it only for the first time it is released and then its back to normal. KRBC also has their releases at opening. And I'm sure most other places does the same. Whats the difference in times? Anybody who wants to show up at 1130am will show up. I will take off work that day or early to be there for the release if I wanted to. I think those who really want the bottles bad enough will be there in the am just like the pm. Enough of the 5pm ranting. Now about the CitraHolic. I think this first time bottle release will sell out quickly. Same day/night? Maybe. It's another great beer from Julian & BW. Would I stand in line for it? Don't think so. I'll probably go to BWSB at happy hour and have some grub and beers before getting a few bottles. Not interested in all the fanboyz hype on CitraHolic at BWLB. Just want to enjoy a few pints and have some BBQ Chicken nachos and grab a few bottles and get the hell out of dodge. And hopefully before 5pm.

    ranting and raving. . . .

    Agree with that.

I also wish BWSB would keep more than 1 or 2 of their house beers on tap at a time. End of my rant

Can you get to one of the local Whole Foods (or various other stores in the area where BW is distributed) that Wednesday or Thursday instead? If you're only looking for 1 or 2, that's another option.

Are all of their bottle releases distributed? I don't think 8 Buffalo made it out anywhere.

The monthly IPA releases usually make it out to their select distributors. It's been the case for all of them recently, unless someone's heard differently for Citraholic.

8 was a very limited release. I think the last of the bottles lasted several weeks at the brewery.

Citraholic will make it out for distro. My local said they are expecting to get a couple of cases.

Ok. Thanks. No I am back home up in San Jose again now, bummer. Will look around the local online stores, maybe they'll get some.

Perhaps. Either that or might need to swing a trade. I won't be able to get down to the brewery myself, so limited to 1-2 -- otherwise, I'd certainly offer up some help in that department.

Not everyone can take work off when they want to. I don't know if that's part of their rationale, but I don't think it's that objectionable for making 5pm the time. I suppose it might lead to increased traffic, but I'm a fan of it because I don't have as flexible of a work schedule as so many BAs seem to have. I think I'm one of the few BA who isn't a self-made entrepreneur #bluecollar

That is exciting. Hopefully the WF Arroyo I usually pick up their bottles at will get the usual amount. Either them or Bill's in Atwater is typically my best bet for their bottles.

pretty much. While BW is cranking out amazing stuff, they're still not as known as other big names. I've seen people pass up Melrose or Thrillseeker on the shelf and go up to the counter and ask if they have Pliny in the back. So you'll see bottles around of this without worry.

I doubt, HIGHLY DOUBT that it's going to be sold out at long beach on the same day.

Still so weird to me, considering the awards they won at GABF last year. But even without the ribbons/trophies/whathaveyou, still making excellent beers. Always surprised when I even see their stuff on the shelves at all, versus being kept in back.

Speaking of 5pm releases. It's 5pm and I just opened my second to last bottle of Thrillseeker.

Interesting it mentions 7 Whole Foods. I was hoping all/most Whole Foods. I guess they don't do well in the Valencia or any of the SFV Whole Foods :slight_frown:
