So I had a trade worked out with him starting almost two months ago. I shipped first and shipped out a ton of stuff for two Hunahpu and a Marshall Z. He did actually ship out, but the box was damaged on the way and rather than just having the shipment sent to me to sort out, he had it sent back to him. One of the Hunahpu and the Marshall Z broke. We were trying to sort out what he was going to ship me instead to make up for the broken bottles and couldn't really agree on anything right now. He was planning on shipping me just the other Hunahpu and working out the rest later.

He kept sending me messages stating he would be shipping out the next day and never did. He now hasn't been on BeerAdvocate since the 6th of May and not responding to any of my messages.

If any one has any information on him on whats going on or how I can contact him, I'd really appreciate it.

    Jon

Not that it helps anything but I had a box damaged this week and I called fed ex and asked if they could just send it the rest of the way and the lady told me they will not deliver a damaged box. She said they will just send it back to me.

Doesn't sound promising, what did you send for the two Hunahpu?

Had the same issue last week, Fedex filed a damage report, inspected my box and found alcohol, then sent it back to me, requested that i have the recipient pick it up, which they denied. I did get a call from their regional manager about the shipment of alcohol, but they weren't pissed. She mentioned getting some sort of a license or permit to ship alcohol, anyone familiar with this? Box arrived back to me soaked in stout and everything was there, minus the broken extra.

While Fedex policy is not to deliver alcohol, it's up to the person that deals with it. Often times they do repack and ship it on.

As for the trade, this sounds like more than 'potential' to me. Zhukov is a super easy bottle to replace. And Hunahpu's isn't exactly impossible... he owes you those bottles unless he can find a more easily gotten and suitable substitue for you. Two months after a broken box with no responses is borderline unjustifiable, though it would be nice to hear from the other party before we light the torches.

Had a package from WI coming to me get damaged this past Friday. They held it at the sorting facility closest to me and I went and picked it up. They had even cleaned the package up pretty well. Just a few sticky bottles and 2-3 small shards of glass. My shipper talked with the QA person. Not quite sure of the tone, but it sounded like she simply towed the company line. The guy at the sorting facility mentioned that the shipper needed an alcohol label on the box, but i assume that label would trigger extra fees and licensure.

They were pretty friendly to me. The guy mentioned that they get a lot of exceptions in colorado. We agreed it was due to the beercation nature of a lot of our tourism. He said they open a lot of boxes where someone has thrown two six packs in a box to ship back home to themselves and not even wrapped bottles individually. I had a short discussion with the guy about their facility. I told him I was always interested in how the sorting process worked and he even took me just inside the back door and gave me a rundown. Pretty cool stuff.

    The trade was
Darkness '11, Sexy Chocolate '12, Speedway Stout, Baller Stout, Barrel BORIS and a few others for
Hunahpu x 2 and Humidor Marshall Z with extras.

I was really jumping to get the Hunahpu. I understood the shipping the box back to himself to see the damage, but to delay shipping the second attempt has been wayyyy too long, especially without any details on situation.

You gave him an insanely good deal. Darkness and SC can likely land Hunahpu x2 by themselves. Either Speedway Stout or a BA Boris is a clean 1:1 with Zhukov. That was very generous of you.

Point being, that sucks double that you're getting screwed.

It was a Humidor Zhukov. Wasn't that more limited?

Good point - I missed the Humidor part. Still probably not a bad 1:1 with BA Boris though. We can also flip it to the Baller Stout, which puts it drastically in his favor on a 1:1 though, and then we still have a "free" BA Boris and Speedway. Anyway you slice it, it was a very generous trade IMO.

Yeah, I always undervalue BA Boris and Speedway just because I always see them on the shelf. Makes me forget that some places don't have them

I know, I know, Ohio BA problems.

I did a Hunahpu trade with Jason/calico360jrd back in March. Still had my thread, here was our trade.....I sent 1 x 2010 Abyss, 2 x 2011 Abyss, 1 x Black Butte XXIII, 1 x Chocolate Sombrero, 1 x Freetail Velocihopter
    1 x JK Black Metal - original (not the Farmhouse) 1 x Real Ale 15th Anniv. RIS, he sent...1 x Hunahpu, 1 x Humidor Marshall Zhukov, 1 x Victory at Sea, 1 x Marshall Zhukov, 1 x Bolita Brown, 1 x Improv

I think it was generally fair - since I was happy to get Hunahpu. He was a little slow to respond, but he did come through on the trade. His shipping box was the cheap cardboard wine shippers. Everything made it safely, but I remember at the time that I was surprised that the container actually got the beers to me safely. I still have it, but I'm too afraid to reuse it. I'm not surprised that there could be a shipping problem with those type of shippers.

I got a box from calcio360jrd back in March. He was a little slow to respond and slow to ship, but everything arrived intact with no problems.

Just to give everyone an update on the trade if you ever interact with calcio360jrd in the future.

April 20th - HIM: ok, so i will resend the huna on monday with the extras i had originally sent. still trying to find another huna
April 21th - Me: Thanks for the update.
April 27th - Me: Any updates? I haven't received anything yet.

Several messages later from me with no response....

May 25th - HIM: Here is your shipping number man, been a trying couple of weeks, going to cigar city next week to wind down, i'll see if i can get you a bottle of something brewery only, thanks for understanding and i hope we can do a further trade in the future!
    -----------------------
I received the box with only one Hunahpu and nothing else. He offered to get me some Homefront IPA or something from Cigar City. I replied stating that it wasn't enough for the Hunahpu, Marshall Z, and extras he initially was suppose to give me. I then told him I just wanted him to send me back half of my stuff since it didn't look like he'd be able to make up for the lost beers. His cellar link is here. I asked for multiple items or just even one from that list as well to make up for the beer.
    ------------------------
May 30th - HIM: Hey bro, i'm moving outside of tampa tomorrow so this is the last you will hear of me for a week or so. Pretty much everything you traded me has been drank already, so sending them back ain't gonna happen. I have some extra stouts here i can send you and see what total wine in tampa has.

The extra stouts i have on hand right now are...

Real Ale Brewing 15th anniversary ale RIS
Great Lakes Brewing Co. Blackout stout
Founders Breakfast Stout(might have 2 of these)
    Dieu Du Ciel Peche Mortel
    Nils Oscar Imperial Stout

That's what i got right now that hasn't been put in storage or set up to move tomorrow.

By the way, none of my business but i saw the thread you started about me, not cool but I will look past it because you were generally concerned and all of our communications have been professional.

    -------------------------
The Founders BS were actually the ones I gave him as extras in my box.
I've reported him to the bad trader list. I highly doubt he will ever make up for the original trade we did. Though its possible he could drink a Sexual Chocolate, BA BORIS, Baller Stout, Speedway Stout, Darkness, 2x Heady Topper, and a few extras in a matter of a month, the more logical conclusion would be he's a liar.

Please do not trade with him in the future unless he ships first and you receive everything you agreed on. Even then, I'd still say stay as far away as possible with associating with him on a trade.
