After being thoroughly impressed with the Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout, I have decided to look for more local craft breweries around Toledo. I see one called Great Black Swamp Brewing, has anyone had it or know where their beers can be bought?

I've seen their stuff in bombers at The Andersons and in BG at BG Liquor. Also seen it on tap at several venues, I thought their website had a list of who had it on tap.
Also check out Sugar Ridge out of Bowling Green, nothing bottled that I've seen, but I know several places around town have it on tap. Might need to call them and inquire, they're a small operation so that knowledge shouldn't be hard to come by.

I just picked up a bomber of Great Black Swamp's Dark-n-Dirty coffee stout (from the Andersons in Sylvania), but haven't tried it yet. Looking forward to doing so.

I'm also eager to visit Father John's Microbrewery in Bryan some weekend. Not quite a Toledo brewery, but close enough: http://www.fatherjohnsbrewery.com/

And I agree...Total Eclipse is a fantastic beer.

Not local at all -- but is Yuengling available in the Toledo area?

Yup, you can find it pretty much in any bottle shop, gas station, or grocery store.

Thanks. I'm buzzing in to grab some Brew Kettle and Troeg's in a few weeks, and a friend wanted some Yuengling.

Anyone spot Clown Shoes Billionaire or Jackie O's Dark Apparition bottles around Toledo yet?

Forgot to post this earlier, but I saw Dark Apparition today @ the Andersons on Talmadge. No Billionaire yet; two customer service reps at different stores told me next week, but two different reps said 'next week' last week.
With fingers crossed, we shall see...

Anderson's Maumee had billionaire last week (I think it had just come in on Thursday when I was there)...there was a case just laying on the floor @14.99/bottle, no limit. I grabbed 1 but have not been back to see if there is any left.

As far as I know, only two cases of billionaire came to the area. Anderson's in Maumee got theirs last week and we'll be getting the other one at Marino's tomorrow.

Things may have changed a bit, but when I went to Father John's with my wife and a few friends none of us could believe how terrible the beers were. Same horrible yeast strain and dirty-tasting water all of the way across their line. There wasn't a single one that I enjoyed trying; friends of ours who've been there recently have said it's better but still pretty horrible. The food is excellent, though; and so is the atmosphere. Just a heads-up.

I'll definitely have to try to pick some of this up.

Thanks for the warning. When I make it out there, I'll probably post a review on BA (hopefully it's a positive one).

I know its months until it will be released but how difficult is Founders Backwoods Bastard to find around the Toledo area? I know this is random, but it is a beer I cannot wait to try.

Easier than KBS, more difficult than a lot of others. This year seemed harder than previous ones, but if you pay attention it shouldn't be hard to score a four-pack or two when it's released. But if you're looking for something similar and more readily available you should try Thirsty Dog Wulver. It stomps all over Backwoods Bastard IMO.
