Permanent Funeral tastes pretty unique to me. Oh how I love that beer.

Agree with this. The Cedar does something very unique to it. Also, the White Oak JaiAlai was very unique to me. The White Oak is a favorite of mine. Just wish I could get my hands on it, as I've only acquired it through trade 3 times.

My Blueberry Nightmare - Birrificio Del Ducato

One of the strangest beers I've ever had. Stout brewed with hot chilies and aged for two years in oak barrels with blue berries.

Definitely didn't enjoy it, but I give them props for something original....I guess

Just that it was 20 years ago almost. At that point in my life, barely out of my teens, I had never tasted anything like that in my life. Baked beans, campfire, smoky....I loved it

    Fat Tire.
Amber ales are everywhere, but I don't think anyone has managed to capture that malt character...except for NB themselves. It may have been based on DeKoninck and Palm, but it has differentiated itself from them and all of its own imitators, too.

I'm only 23, and the first pint of that I had was 2 years ago. I asked because that was also my first smoked beer, and I had the same reaction as you did.

Enjoy these years my brotha. 20-27 were some crazy years, man. I burned the candle hard those years, got married at 29 and have gradually calmed down ever since. I wish I had the selection you guys have now, though, haha. Cheers.
Just to add, that Marzen is still one of my favorites. Tastes just as good now as it did when I was 19.

Not sure how that beer is unique to it's style. For me, it's like every other run of the mill RIS out there.....only more expensive. If you want a unique to the style Impy Stout, Storm King is a better answer. I don't think there is a hoppier impy stout made.

My answer right now would probably be Otter Creek Citra Mantra. How may citra hopped lagers are out there.

I have gone on about my love for it before but Shorts Pistachio Cream Ale was unbelievable to me the first time I had it. Imagine a nice creamy mouthfeel, slight earthy sweet malt and minor hops segueing into total pistachio as you swallow. It was as if one had just eaten a pistachio, I was blown away, I don't think I have had a beer with nuts that came across so well. Really a shame that apparently it's not very stable and the pistachio qualities go bad quick, which many of the reviews reflect.

I agree with you on both fronts. The first time I had the smoke beer changed the way I thought about beer as a whole. I too had it in the mid 90's.
