Great Divide Yeti (all of them)
Oskar Ten Fidy (this is like oil thick)
Founders Imperial Stout, probably my favorite straight up stout
Hoppin Frog DORIS is also pretty much like delicious sludge

I completely agree with Ten Fidy, Hoppin Frog BORIS & DORIS, and Yeti.

Dark Horse Plead the 5th is probably the thickest stout I've ever had. +1 to all the mentions of Michigan made stouts on people's lists.

BCBS is pretty damn thick. As is FBS. Everyone is saying that Ten Fidy is easy to get...not here :slight_frown:

Definitely agree that Old Rasputin has a thinner body then most of the listed up there.

Most have already have been suggested but I'll back them up. Bruery Black Tuesday, OB Ten Fidy, GD Yeti (especially the BA Yeti), Founders RIS and CBS, Bell's Expedition, Hoppin Frog Regular B.O.R.I.S, Goose Island BCBS and variants, Dark Horse Plead the 5th, GL Blackout Stout / BA version.

I love the burberry patch avatar, but dislike this comment, I didn't think Old Rasputin was really thick at all. It was a good stout, but as far a viscosity is concerned it's definitely lacking compared to some of the other beers listed.

How has Port Brewing Old/Older Viscosity not been mentioned yet? Those are pretty, well, viscous. And Old Viscosity is readily available in SoCal. Affordable too!

Edit: Whoops! Looks like BrewDogRocks mentioned it too!

I would add Yeti and Mephistopheles.

Yes! How could I forget Mephistopheles. At $10 for 12oz it's super pricey but one of the best stouts I've ever had.

Hello. Well ThickNStout I actually did mention Yeti and Mephistopheles, so I don't know if you meant that you would also concur, or that you were adding them to the list for teh first time. It doesn't matter in any case, but I am just pointing that out. Also CaptFrothy, I forgot about Serpent's Stout and that is a very good beer, in many ways similar to Mephistopheles and if anything thicker than it. Lost Abbey is sort of the 'Belgian' label for Port Brewing, so I assume the recipe for Old Viscosity and Serpent's Stout are similar. And yes smaisch, I was also surprised that no one had mentioned the Old Viscosity up to that point. I think it may be the thickest beer of all the ones we've mentioned so far.

Someone above mentioned Mikkeller Black, which is by far the thickest stout I've had, but it's certainly not an everyday kind of stout. Worth trying once though (but let me tell you, don't drink strong beers for four hours and then decide to give the 17% stout a try, you will be sorry and cut off by your friends and significant other).
