As Samuel Beckett said, "we're all born mad. some remain so."

He was Irish, so he knew a thing or two about beer.

This sounds like it will be de Garde's ROYGBIV day that Crooked Stave had a while back. A good turn out is expected, but those expectations are gonna be blown away. I hope I can make it and be part of this exciting day!!

That's funny. I thought you were going to say "He was Irish, so he knew a thing or two about madness."

    probably...
I'd offer a ride, but I am coming down from Seattle that morning...
so, I can give a ride to someone from seattle, but you will need to find your own ride back.
That being said, I can give a ride to someone back from de garde to portland.

Bigger issue is gonna be rides from the release back to downtown Tillamook. One taxi town

Depends on the kegs. ideally after it opens to he public, but depends on whats tapped when.

On a brighter note, my better half might run a taxi to town for people. Whats fair $10 a head? ;-)

Anyone interested in riding with us on the Brewvana bus back and forth to Tillamook? There are 3 (potentially 4) spots left on the bus for anyone who wants to join us.

I have the bus reserved from 10am to 7:30pm on 5/3, with pick up and drop of at Belmont Station, and the cost is $50 per person (including a nice tip for the driver). It may sound a bit steep, but consider the advantages:
    • We can drink on the bus.
    • They will get you home from Tillamook without having to drive, which means you can enjoy more of what's on offer without worrying about impairing your ability to drive.
    • We have the bus all to ourselves for the day, so if you want to get lunch in Tillamook (or tour the cheese factory) the driver will take you wherever you want to go. The only exception is that according to the contract they won't take us to any breweries that weren't pre-arranged when the reservation was made, so we can't visit Pelican.
    • Seriously, bottle share on the bus. What more do you need?
Also worth mentioning is that they offer a "direct to your door" drop off service when we get back to town. As long as you live within 5 miles of the Convention Center they'll take you directly to your house for $10, so you don't have to worry about driving when we get back to town. Since the station is conveniently located within a few blocks of 3 major bus lines (15,20, & 75) it should be fairly easy to take a bus here in the morning and have Brewvana drop you (and your bottles) off at home if you want to avoid driving all together.

As an added incentive for people who aren't keepers, we have a couple folks on the bus that won't be exercising their +1 invites, and have offered to share them in exchange for part of the bottle allocation that the invite aloows you. This means that you get in 2 hours early with the keepers, and get first crack at all the bottles being offered that day (pending whatever arrangement you and your keeper buddy come to). If this interests anyone let me know and I'll put you in touch with them, or they can chime in here if they wish.

I know the answer but the tip for the driver, is included in the 50 or outside the 50? the wording is confusing.

    That includes the tip.

You're in. That brings us to 1 or (maybe 2) spots remaining.

So Mar Clair is within walking distance of the brewery right? And is a bottle share going to happen (at Mar Clair)?!

It's basically at the Tilllamook air museum. It's about 5 miles ... so if you have a couple hours, it's walking distance.

    6000 Blimp Ave Tillamook, OR

It's in an industrial/office park complex. I think it's unit A, but just look for the only place that has a line of barrels out front. According to google maps it's 4.4 mile, 1.5 hour walk from the brewery to the hotel.
