Hey all. I'm headed to Minneapolis this weekend and looking to find some good bottles to bring back to the east coast with me.

Any suggestions on what I should be after, or what are some good Minnesota brews that would be worthy of a plane trip back home?

Surly anything, particularly Abrasive which is still lurking in a few stores, and still drinking quite nicely.

I love Indeed and Steel Toe.

I would check SeekABrew and see if there are any particular brews you can"t get and are interested in.

Remember there are no alcohol sales on Sunday.
All breweries listed above are great. Depending on styles there are some options.
IPA: surly abrasive, surly furious, indeed let it ride, steel toe size 7.
Stouts: Fulton worthy adversary, Fulton war and peace
BW: central waters bourbon barrel barleywine
Sours: brau brothers bancreige peated sour.

If you need help finding anything, just ask and I'm sure someone will help.

What area are you staying in?

If you are looking for other stuff there is lots of older surly hiding in peoples cellars just waiting to be traded

And as I am contractually obligated. Summit Saga is available in 6 or 12 packs. At a wallet friendly price you can't go wrong.

Thanks all, this is really helpful. I'm staying near Loring Park.

Any shops you'd recommend seeking out? I've been reading about The Four Firkins, seems like a solid place?

Zipps isn't too far away for a liquor store, also lake wine & spirits.

Butcher and the boar has a great tap list and is a couple blocks away if you are looking to grab a beer.

They still have that in bottles? I thought I missed my chance.

They did when I went last Wednesday and they bumped the limit to 5. I would suspect they still have some, but would call before you make the trip.

Some people hate the Firkins, but I'm not one of them. I'd strongly suggest going if you get a chance. I've been going there for years and have had nothing but good experiences and their selection is solid. Some items might be 50 cents or a buck more, but they do a discount if you pay cash.

I find Blakkyr to be comparable in taste, and I imagine the shelf life to be vastly improved.

I may, on the other hand, be making a wish.

If you are looking for "hidden beer gems" 4 firkins may not be the place to go. Being a destination store they don't seem to hold onto the more limited releases as long as others. (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

There is a store that has darkness still, The means of obtaining it may be a bit un-traditional as you have to buy it as part of a package. Anyone can feel free to BM if they want more info

The Lunds liquor store near 12th & Harmon Place/Hennepin has decent selection of local bottles including Fulton, Indeed (Haywire, Burr Grinder), Flat Earth, etc. It's close to Loring Park and Butcher & Boar, with Mackenzie's a couple blocks further up Hennepin into downtown.

Not bottles and would have to get there when they open to get a growler, but if you can. Check out Dangerous man in North East Minneapolis. There chocolate milk stout is good. While down there, you can check out Indeed, 612 and Sociable Cider Werks.

You will pay a 15% premium at Lunds. I wouldn't recommend it. Haskells downtown would be a better option.

Everyone from out of town knows about Surly, but I think the less known local favorites are Steel Toe, Indeed, and Dangerous Man. As mentioned above by @nograz, Dangerous Man is a taproom only, but they always seem to have something good.

Edit: Oh yeah, their might still be stuff at Town Hall from the barrel aged week, which is delicious and located right downtown(but again, taproom only).
