I wouldn't stay overnight on the southern half of that county... Go to manatee and take cab or short drive, worth it. Or spend some extra money and stay on the beach.

 

Palm Bay Motel is within walking distance, but there are several hotels a short cab ride away. Not much in the way of lodging within close proximity to GB

 

Does anyone know why the price of this event went from $40 the day details were released via Facebook to now $50? Not cheap...just curious.

 

Those running the fest want more money? Cajun Cafe fests have been increasing in price over the years and are now at $50 too. It's unfortunate for those of us who aren't going to drink 10+ beers.

 

Yea, I get that, but I was thinking with the price increase that they'd be offering more than just a tasting glass and unlimited pours for 4 hours. At least with Cajun Cafe fests it also gets you a plate of food and some live entertainment.

 

There will be live entertainment at the Floridaweisse Bash, but food will probably be extra.

 

1,000 people seems like a lot for the venue

 

I thought the same thing. What sucks is that there are 2 weeks left and still no info on buying tickets... Doesn't seem like they will be anywhere near 1000 people.

 

It seems they are blocking off the street.

But yeah, less people is fine by me.

 

I guess it's good this date didn't end up working out. Sounds like the planning still leaves something to be desired.

THIS is what worries me. Even the most well thought out and planned craft beer events seem to be going awry as of late. The planning here seems to be haphazard at best. It may be very well planned for all I know, but with the fluctuations in venue, date, price, and the little to no information shared with the public so far, MY PERCEPTION is that it isn't well planned at all. Again MY PERCEPTION is capitalized because I am not stating fact, just going by the evidence(or lack thereof) that has been presented thus far.

Addendum: I hope I am totally wrong, because I am planning on attending.

 

For those east coasters who can't make it, Due South is having their 2nd anniversary party the same day.

 

Brew bus has a bus going from ccb to green bench for 25 bucks.

 

What would you guys like to know about the event? I can try and answer all questions that you have. -JW

When will tickets go on sale?

What breweries will be there?

Can we bring bottles for a share?

They just posted on FB that tickets will only be sold at the door. Blah.

 

JW, what time will tickets go on sale? If sales start at noon, it'll take a while to get all 1000 people inside. My advice (not that it matters): Cash only, at least 10 people taking cash, giving wristbands and giving glasses (would take an hour to get everyone in at 30 seconds per person), and start selling glasses/wristbands at 11am so when noon hits everyone can just start drinking.

EDIT: Also, the more beer stations, the better.
