Well we can always get the date finalized for whenever. If anything I can host it at my house. Let's get some ideas flowing. I wanna meet up and match some faces with names and try some good beer with fellow nerds.

EDIT**** not sure if May 10th works for me anymore, (something about going out for my wife's first Mothers day dinner that night, and she not being very interested in a bottle share, I still have some time for convincing though)

Welcome! There's always room for more Schaumburg area BAs to share great beer. I'm not sure if May 10 is definite. I can't attend that day. Has anyone confirmed that date, location, etc?

Will be there. Good deal and great breweries...hard to pass on for being practically in my backyard. A lot of locals I can't wait to try out... along with a few heavy hitters.

I'm still holding out hope 5/10 works for enough people, but either way, I have plenty of bottles to share with whoever can make it. And some more for the next time around too

At Bigby's? Just looked at the spreadsheet and there's a few people already. Reporting here for @jverdo1 and anyone else interested in 5/10.

Anyone driving to Madison for Great Taste of the Midwest tickets this weekend? I'm considering driving up around midnight on Saturday rather than get up really early Sunday. Anyone interested in going or have space for one more?

Message me if you want to discuss details and/or don't want to reveal your ticket location and strategy!

I'm probably driving up but will not leave until around 4:00 AM - stupid deployment for work. I just moved back to Chicago after 7 years in Madison - so if you have any questions, let me know. And I will be driving up alone - so there is room for others...

There's been a big shift in the number of tickets wanted and the number of tickets available. I first attended 6 years ago and we walked up to one of the stores selling tickets at noon and had not issues getting tickets. That time has slowly become earlier and earlier every year - last year if you didn't get in line by ~8:00 AM at Steve's on University, you didn't get tickets. I was there a little after 7:00 AM last year and got two tickets in the 200 range.

Steve's on Mineral Point has campers so the night before is usually necessary.

There is also a change in how the tickets are being sold - Tyranena is nolonger a ticket site. They would allow camping on there grounds and people would show up on Friday/Saturday to get in line.

I'm leaving ~4:00 AM because I will be done with a deployment for work around that time and why go back to sleep for one hour and leave at 5:00 AM. I'm also not willing to risk not getting tickets if I'm making the 2.5 hour drive. I will be there a few hours early then needed, but I'll grab a nap in line and enjoy a couple solo cups of some dark mystery beverage that is not any form of coffee...

I wouldn't count on the lottery - but who really does. They do a really good job at kicking out people that send in multiple entries but that is about all I can say that is good about it. The biggest problem with The Great Taste is that it is The Great Taste. There was a time that they couldn't give away tickets but with the explosion of craft beer - the festival is becoming very crowded and the lack of space to add additional tickets makes those tickets available very hard to get. Now I'm not saying it's impossible just yet, but even locals have a difficult time finding all the tickets they need.
