This thread seems like a syndication. Saw some Hop 15 recently in the store, I didn't buy it due to the inconsistency in all the products under the group. Would love to see them on tap.

Only beer I've had from them is the Wipeout IPA and it was very nice.

I had a 3/26 bottle and posted this in the last thread that popped up.
Wonder if its a freshness issue.

    Bottled 3/26/12
    Consumed 04/08/12

What's wrong w/ Green Flash? I've never had an issue with their IPAs...

I had one and it was perfect, not sure of bottle date I left the bottle at the Houston BA Tasting. Great beer I would take a risk buying one if it was 50/50

    Lack of bottle date.
I don't buy Green Flash either unless I can confirm bottling date.

Ahh, yeah, at least they have dates on the cases though.

On tap is the only way to go with these guys. Hop 15 is amazing but I won't be buying any bottles, too risky.

Last year it seemed like every bottle I bought of Port(Old Viscousity and Hop Tide) was over carbonated. Next year they will get it right!(sarcasm)...somebody needs to get fired.

Had one the other night, was on the lower end of carbonation, but was definitely not flat. I had Mongo and Wipeout earlier this year and they were both on the high end of carbonation. Ive had most of there bottle offerings and dont see and reason to not buy them.

And I think most of the sediment in the bottle is hop/break particles and not just yeast.

It is more an issue of price for me and GF. Good, but not $12-$13 a four pack of standard IPA good. Plus, coupled with the prices, those lack of bottle dates get to be a bigger liability as they'll sit longer. It was a risk I was sometimes willing to take with a sixer, but not anymore.

I like Green Flash brews, but not a good bet when looking to buy a bottle in MA.

Ouch, I think I got a case of Palate Killer for like $50-$55 a couple weeks ago. Guess I did good!

Hop 15 was quite tasty. My bottle was not flat, or at least I thought it had enough carbonation. There was, however, a shit ton of sediment. It was sort of gross. Luckily the taste made up for it. I'd probably buy another bomber the next time a batch comes my way.

It is a shame because I love Port/ Lost Abbey's beers. I've had one "flat" bottle, and the rest were so amazingly carbonated that I did not care.

But when asked about it, Tomme just said they are "lightly" carbonated, rather than it being an issue wit quality assurance.

I hope once they get into a bigger facility the next few years, they can get it together.

That's pretty bad if they just say it's "lightly" carbonated. That's clearly not the case when there are so many complaints and so much bottle variation. The beer, when done right, is quite good.

True. I still love the lost Abbey. Have only had the Old Viscocity but thought it was very good. Would love to try their IPA's and Euro lagers.

Haven't had too many carbonation issues with these guys, none with Port really, my bottle of Cuvee de Tomme was pretty still and lifeless though. I have been avoiding most of the Port stuff because it aint exactly fresh on the East Coast. Bottles I got in CA were spot on.

Late to the game here on the topic, but I just cracked open a 3/26 bottle and it was flat. I purchased even after getting the warning from co-workers that they had opened flat bottles. The funny thing is that we got all our cases of Hop15 in the same delivery, and I've had 2 bottles previously that were outstanding and carbonated. Perhaps one case was from the 3/26 batch and the others that we stocked on the shelves first were a different date? I wish I still had the older bottles to tell. I also had an Older Vis that was completely flat, it was a bitch getting the cork out of the damn bottle.

    1) pour flat bottle into an empty 2 liter bottle
    2) attach this (http://morebeer.com/view_product/18250/102290/Carbonator_Cap) to the 2 liter bottle
    3) attach this (http://morebeer.com/view_product/18301/102290/CO2_Injector_Ball_Lock) to the item in #2
    4) hit it with some CO2
    5) shake it up and you have carbonated beer

It will cost you some money but you will have the ability to carbonate anything you want after you have them. Water, flat sodas or beers where you think a little more spritz would do them some good.
