Oppermanns vs. Tippins vs. Brass Mug

stopped at Brass Mug after work and was told they sold out a little earlier in the day...BUT they'd be getting more next Thursday. I may have looked so sad walking out that he pulled a bottle from his personal supply to sell to me, so very many thanks for that.

Keep your ears open next week.

 

@mtrog313 @abanton and I had all 3 in a side by side with regular bourbon plead the 5th this year.

If they are indeed the same beers, there must be bottle variation, because none of them tasted the same to any of us...

No. Tippins was about $5, oppermans $6 and brass was closer to $7.00 II think.

Oppermans vs Brass Mug was night and day.. Brass Mug tasted like a muddled Pt5, not very much bourbon flavour in it. Oppermans on the other hand had tons of bourbon. Definitely has some bottle variation to it.

 

Has to be a variation as they were both sweet bourbon bombs when I had them

 

I have not had oppermans but my wife and I had the same experience with the brass mug bottles. We have opened 3 so far.

Tippin's and Brass Mug are identical. More a bourbon presents than regular bbpt5.

Had a Brass Mug bottle at DLD that I had brought. Very mellow bourbon flavor. Wasn't too bad but very far from a bourbon bomb as a few have said. Kind of bummed about the variations in the brew.

 

No Brass Mug bbpt5 this week. Owner said other party stores(who didn't even contribute barrels) were complaining they didn't get any and this has created some sort of issue with the state. DH has the beer ready to ship, they just don't know when they will be allowed to.

 

What a bunch of entitled jerks!

 

I talked to Louie yesterday and he does not really sound hopeful of getting it which sucks.//.

 

Is there an issue because there not labeled properly? whats the issue with the state all about?

 

Not sure...All he said is, other stores started to complain about it even though they did not supply any barrels...He was unsure if he would get any of the beer he was supposed to get today...
