It's cool man, I'm pretty sure the abv on the BB beers were grossly underestimated. I think they were all about 18%

I should clarify because I was the last one in the presale line allowed to buy. instead of waiting again which knowing now wouldn't have been that long, I chose to go in instead.. and yeah I saw it inside but by then rearranging things with the shuttle driver would've been a pain.. amazing brews, bb woodmaster and imperial goodnight and smore stout were awesome.

I may or may not have a video of you trying to eat a taco. :stuck_out_tongue:

I've got a couple extra 6 packs of Stache Bender if anyone missed out. I'm looking for a Mango Magnifico for a tasting next weekend if you have one but they're free to a good home.
I'm in the Novi/Farm Hills area.

I was wondering if I actually ate those tacos or not. I vaguely remember getting them. I faded fast.
I liken the experience to Smeagle and the "precious" being all the barrel aged beers I was convinced were going to kick within two hours.

    He looked so happy.

Admittedly, that band was really good. I was tapping my feet too.

Haha....maybe....but I don't think I could get that drunk at an all pale ale and IPA fest.

My only complaint - we got there an hour and a half before the pre-sale was over, we were told that we should just get into the general admission line because pre-sales would be over when we got close to the front and it was 2:00 pm. They told us we could get Stache Bender inside at the pub because there would be some left over. The problem? Leaving the premises meant we would have had to wait in line to get back into the party. We felt it wasn't worth hauling around a case of beer and enjoyed the party instead.

Still had a great time, the taps were awesome and the music was great. A local friend is hooking me with some sixers of Stache Bender.

That was an awesome party! Fest was very well organized and while there seems to be a few complaints, that's expected when you get 4,000 + people together. Like they always have, the Short's staff and volunteers busted ass all day! Few of my favorite brews were Bourbon Goodnight, Double Barrel Wizard, Boubon Evil Urges and Uber. The duck nachos were amazing. I'm still craving those! Was nice having a guest pass so I was able to get right in the fest. All this combined with getting in line for the bottle sales early (11:15ish) made for a great day celebrating my favorite brewery! Pretty insane what Short's has become in 10 years!!

Curious what they are going to do for future fests. Would be cool if they had a big block party every year now or closed down the alley/parking lots behind. Even with the pub expansion I think the party is too big now to be pub only. Any early discussions HopHead?

HopHead, was Double Barrel Wizard aged in 2 types of barrels, longer aging or something else? Any idea if Publican, Mystery, Cup a Joe will ever be barrel aged? Seems like those would all be great from the barrel

That guest pass was the shit. Not having to wait in that long ass line was awesome. I'm extremely grateful to the shorts people for the hospitality

No plans to have a fest like that again -- maybe at milestone anniversary's.

Double Barrel Wizard was aged in two barrels, yes. No idea if those others will ever be barrel aged.

hmmm. I'd be concerned about how many people will come next year after how successful it was this year. It may not be 4k+ again, but I imagine it will be large.

Thanks for the quick response as always!

Can't even imagine how much work went into planning and running the fest so kind of figured it wouldn't be a yearly thing. Hopefully every 5 years or so!
