Nolan (Rodman's) has been saying that for at least 3 weeks in a row now......

I had a feeling that may have been the case. Thanks for the extra info...I won't hold my breath.

I just sent FW a response telling her
    1. If it did hit Maryland, DC, or VA, no one on Beer Advocate has said a peep about it.
    2. I've called every single one of their accounts I'm aware of in MD and DC that get their special releases not asking if it's in stock, but if they ever saw it. A few of these stores are run by friends of mine (since her regional rep accused them of hoarding it). NO ONE has seen it. I told her I realize this isn't a concern for FW and that I appreciate her time, but I don't believe "it hit and I missed it". I'm pretty sure between following threads on BA, speaking with friends in the industry, and speaking to buyers of stores run by good people (State Line for example) if it had hit, I think I'd have heard something.

Someone somewhere fucked up. Another region got our Sucaba and someone is not admitting it. That's my best guess for now. OR, It hit and we all missed it. I can easily deal with "it hit and we missed it". It's pretty easy to trade for. What I'm having trouble with is that if that's the case, how come nobody saw it?

Props to Jemma from FW for even taking the time out of her day to deal with one measly beer drinker. She already responded.

" Ryan I honestly wish I could give you a better response but when I contacted the sales rep (who also doubles as our Export Director), this was his exact response:
"We don’t have any. All the barrel-aged beer is allocated and sold through. Many stores don’t even offer it to the public. They get six bottles and the owner/staff buys it all for themselves."
Once the beer hits the distributor, it’s literally out of our hands. I personally have no insight into whether or not those states received it but I know it has become an issue for many people back east. Again, I truly am sorry that we have disappointed you. "

    Here's hoping, guys and girls.

It's pretty absurd that it takes 3+ months for this beer to get from CA to va/DC/md

I know FW doesn't care whether "we" get Sucaba 3 months later, or not all, but it's not good for freshness of other stuff that 3 months later these distributors: legends/specialty bev/whoever else still have no idea as to when or if this will arrive. I'd be embaressed to be so clueless, personally.

I've got a bottle of BCBW that says we don't see it this year. I know California got flooded and a friend out there said every store owner he spoke to said they got "way more than they were supposed to". Someone got our Sucaba. Start trading for it.

I don't know if this potential rumor is true or not, but a WF beer manager told me that the truck froze a month or so back. Might be the reason for the cover up?

2014 Sucaba is like 13.5% abv, right? I know we had some cold days this winter, but I have a hard time believing it got so cold inside a truck to freeze all of those guys.

Something like that. We're just repeating what we heard. I don't know what to believe at this point. Can't believe no one out there as any information.

I hear ya. I appreciate you guys relaying the info you're getting from stores, sales reps, and brewery. I just think they're all full of shit.

Unfortunately it's the sales reps I haven't been able to talk to. I wish someone with better connections would and post what they hear. Apparently the reps are still telling stores "It's coming".

Magruder's rep told them that all of DC's Sucaba got sent to VA. Nobody knows what's going on.

This just demonstrates even further how awesome Firestone's distributor is. Consistently late with their beers and this time not getting Sucaba at all. Oh, and 2 month old IPAs before they hit shelves!

Just read in the "beer releases" thread that Total Wine Mclean got a half a case yesterday.

    Who is Firestone Walkers distributor?

    Specialty I believe...

6 bottles of any special release, XVII, velvet merkin, parabola, sucaba are all 6 bottles, that's a "full case" for these releases of these types of beers...so it's a full case, at least how FW classifies it...

TWs in the area are receiving 1(one) six pack of Sucaba each. I beleive Mclean already sold out.
