Did you try a bottle of each to decide what you were going to drink for the rest of the evening?

    Hi Marquis,

I was visiting my daughter who now lives in California and we took a cruise ship home: our Caribbean ports of call were Curacao, Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia and St Maartens. Got a really good deal with Fred Olsen, direct flight and 31 day cruise all in the package, just flew out earlier so we could see the daughter. I am a huge dark Rum fan so I tried as many as I could whenever I could, managed to get four bottles home with me alongside the 10 or so beers.

Yes, I've had the new Batemans Mild, really enjoyed it, very smooth and I though an improvement on the regular Dark Mild.

    <*))))))><

We went to St Lucia for our #2 son's wedding , had a great time while we were there. Particularly enjoyed island hopping in the Grenadines and Tobago Cays.Absolute magic if you discount the absence of cask ale

I'll add it to my 'want list' immediately!

I love shit beers, they make mediocre ones stand out and make good beers appear outstanding. I even organised a 'shit beer night' on ratebeer last year, it was very popular: I saved up some horrendous bottles and drank them all the same night while others did something similar, there were some wonderful rating that night: we can't have 'virtual bar evenings' on here though can we.

Best not to tempt the wrath of our overlords

As far as shit beers go I'll try anything once, but I won't be having that again any time soon. I found it in Home Bargains recently in case you want to hunt for it.

Right, I've polished off a Morrisons IPA (mediocre) and am now sampling a Lion Stout....

Too bad about the DNA - I'll probably still try it though. Sublimely Self Righteous might be one of the best beers I've ever had

I'm currently drinking Teme Valley's Wotever Next. It's a bit average.....

    Pint of calley 80- blah
pint of broughton 6.2IPA - nice enough but a bit too strong for the amount of flavour it brings.
