    @kerry4porters

    When I had my draught pour of Stoudt's Double IPA today, the gent next to me got a sample, as well. Mine was bright, clear, very tangerine/amber colored (that is to say: pale). His was dark and muddy. Same tap line, same keg.

    I can only figure two things: 1) more sediment in his pour; 2) the much smaller volume in a sample glass (as opposed to my full glass) leads to a different refraction of light, giving the perception of a darker liquid (surface to volume ratio for the two glasses being significantly different).

    In your case (@kerry4porters ), I'd assume one pour was closer to the bottom, and the darker liquid is mostly the effect of sediment. If I split a Rochefort 10 down the middle, one brew would inevitably be quite clear, whereas the other would look like flaky mud.

    Just a guess. It's all Vitamin B and protein at the end of the day, right? :grinning:

    Cheers!

    Yes, we saw; rather, you started early yesterday. (Early and often?). :wink: If I started my day with your lineup, I'd imagine I wouldn't be posting all that late into the evening, either.

    ....then again, based on what I just enjoyed on tap, feel free to call me out at 10 EST when I inevitably crack open an imperial stout. :rolling_eyes:

    Chillier than it's been, but not too chilly to enjoy an All Day and some vapor bags on the porch. Cheers
