Driving to Oklahoma City this weekend and looking for some good beers to drink there and a few to bring back to Texas Any suggestions?

I'm sure you know about Prairie (Bomb!, Bible Belt, the various saisons) but I really dig F5 ipa from Coop. Coop makes a lot of solid draft only action too like their Hefe. Choc makes a great Gose that might still be around. OK also gets Jolly Pumpkin (Oro de Calabaza, La Roja, et al) and Tallgrass (Buffalo Sweat, Ethos, 8bit).

Get twice as much Prairie as you think you want. I've come to expect that half of it's going to be infected.

Prairie Bomb, Coop Native Amber and F-5 IPA, and anything from Krebs Brewing are worthy beers to bring home.

Also I will echo what someone else said about the Tallgrass Brewing's offerings. They are from Kansas but are for sale in Oklahoma.

Lastly, when I last lived in Texas, Boulevard (from KC) wasn't sold there yet. If that is still the case, I would recommend anything from their Smoke Stack Series.

Roughtail makes some good stuff as well. It just depends what you like style-wise. Prairie makes great big stouts & saisons. I Like a lot of Choc's non-American styled stuff. We only have 18 breweries, give or take. I would only take you about 20 minutes of light reading to have a good idea on what to seek out...

Make sure you target a highly rated store, not all stores here carry the good stuff in quantity/quality. A better question to ask might be what store to hit. Where are driving through?

    Never had any Prairies infected.....

    Prairie.

And you should get 2x what you think you want, but because they are awesome, not because of infection. In fact, this is the first time I've ever read about PAA having infection issues. I've never had an issue myself.

Love it when when those who don't live in an asked about area chime in with nonsense.

Boulevard has been on the shelves in TX for the last couple of years including all the smokestack.

More or less this. Prairie does send all the Bomb, Bible Belts, and Noirs down to TX, so those may not be necessary (but would be nice to have a stock of). Jolly Pumpkin should be on the shelves in TX in the next month or so, so we at least have that going for us soon. Coop and Tallgrass would be good.

 Go ahead and name any instance of an infected Prairie beer that you've had that wasn't a Noir variant. I'll wait.

How's that nonsense? I had a batch of Noirs the other day and every single one was infected. Not my fault. Bomb- never had a problem. Same with Bible Belt.

Just said in a comment that they were Noirs. Doesn't change the fact.

Having a few of their beers doesn't equate to half of their beers being infected. Vanilla certainly doesn't equate to half of their beer. Exaggeration doesn't help anyone.

I wasn't exaggerating. I had a coffee, vanilla, and regular. They were all infected. I've never had problems with Bomb! or Bible Belt. Sorry for telling the truth I guess? Why would I lie about having three infected beers? I don't work for a rival brewery or anything.

Ohhhmegerd!!!!! You had three three beers out of everything they've brewed! INFECTION!!!! I would certainly hope you didn't work for any brewery. Stop already.

I've never had three infected beers in the same day from any other brewery, lol. Sorry you're so offended. I was just telling the truth... I'll continue to support their beers that I've enjoyed, just don't think I would gamble on Noirs anymore. No need to take it personally because they made some infected brews and I mentioned it.

The Bruery never has infection problems. Trust me.

And it was all the Noir series for Prairie. Shit happens. It was well known before you bought them that Vanilla has problems. Regular Noir was not infected though.

FWIW i just poured out a Noir that tasted very metallic. Had only had issues with vsnilla before, so I wasn't expecting it. Not necessarily infected but definitely not how it should have been. And not how it was when I've had it in the past
