Agreed KevSal - that mentality is completely silly. A good trade is when both parties make good faith offers, both parties agree to the swap, and everyone winds up happy. No more, no less.

As Kurt Vonnegut put it, ""Literature should not disappear up its own asshole, so to speak."

Replace "literature" with "the beer community" and the advice is just as solid.

Though, let's be real here - Trying to trade Bruery stuff often feels like you're cashing in Pesos compared to some Midwestern gold prices.

I think we undervalue and give away the far more often then not as Californian traders just to get that mad tick action going.

Then they're idiots. If someone offered me 2 KBS for my Rue D' I'd politely tell them their offer was insulting and that I won't be doing any trades with them. People need to do their effin' research. Or at least float their FT ISO ideas in the Beer Help forum.

People will always make awful trades, I just wish they'd wait to see the offers instead of rushing to post FTs.

Saw a post on FB about cellar sales for the month of May, anyone remember what kind of stuff they put on sale last year?

I liked that one too; even with the incredibly hard to say name (ōSHēˌōs).

After sounding it out in my head I decided an aptly named beer would be Otiose-MotherFunker (adios MF'er) . Who knows if it would work as a sour-sour blend but back to the point, please bring back MotherFunker.

This is text taken from a Bruery Anniversary dinner that Urge gastropub in Rancho Bernardo is hosting. These are the Sucre variations that are listed for the dinner:

"Sucre, Rum Barrel Aged Sucre, Madiera Barrel Aged Sucre, Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Sucre, Cognac Barrel Aged Sucre, Portuguese Brandy Barrel Aged Sucre, Tequila Barrel Aged Sucre, American Oak Barrel Aged Sucre, and Port Barrel Aged"

Holy crap. I can't see all those being bottled, I know I'm not crazy enough to drop $26 on each!

If FiftyFifty can move that many variants of Eclipse (and they can, at least via futures), the Bruery can move that many variants of Sucre. They probably won't sell a ton of any given variant, but I suspect there are plenty of people who will buy at least 1 of each.

And to be fair, Sucre was the only beer that was specifically mentioned when they were talking about how they'll make some beers that don't sell out available to members of the PS.

Given the next Preservation release is RS/HS going to be Sans Pagaie, Couverteur, and Sucre variants? Anything else?

I can't wait for Sans Pagaie.
