Hey guys I'll be in Irwindale for two weeks. Was hoping to see if there are any recommendations to great beer bars or places to get bottles. Wondering if I could find some Pliny or Firestone and bring it back. Thanks

    Why Irwindale?!?!?!

However, if you must be in Irwindale I suggest you drive elsewhere. Next door in Azusa is Congregation Ale Houses, decent food, good rotating beer taps plus they brew their own beer too which isnt bad. 15 minutes west on the 210 is Pasadena which opens up a whole bunch of options; a pair of well stocked whole foods, Vendome, another Congregation, and Haven. To the Southeast you will find downtown and Sunset Beer Company.

A couple things to add, both Congregations are bars/pubs as is Haven. Vendome is a bottle shop along with Sunset Beer. Your best shot at Pliny is luck, your best shot at FW depends on what you want, if you want Parabola, you need lots of luck and probably a time machine, Vendome had some sucaba last weekend but it depends on when you will be here.

Ha! Sorry to thread jack, but I must. I assume this spot was built with a nod to historical events?

Stone liquor has Pliny from time to time in West Covina. I'll second House of Spirits and add Lone Hill Liquor to good bottle shops. Bread and Barley and Eureka Burger are great gastropubs also. Aside from Stone Liquor, all the places I mentioned are not far off the 210.

Take the MillerCoors tour and get fresh high Life from the pigtail! You wont regret it!

... but seriously, The Bottle Room in Whittier isnt too far from you either and it has good food and good beers

As others have said, besides Congregation in Azuza your best bet is coming over to Monrovia or Pasadena. Park in old town Pasadena and you will have the places others have mentioned plus the Stone Company Store and Lucky Baldwins which were not mentioned.

Cosign on the Lucky Baldwins. If you are visiting for work, you'll likely be hotel'd up in Monrovia anyway. Easy commute to all the spots mentioned.

Pliny is pretty tough to find in the bottle (on tap is much easier). Try Lucky Baldwins in Sierra Madre, I think you can buy to go bottle there, though it will be a bit marked up. Pliny typically hits local stores on Wednesday and is gone within a few hours.
