It would be Lagerhead's Savage Stout if it were a year-rounder. There is a sad lack of year-round non-sweet, non-adjunct, non-imperial, good ol' regular stouts.

I stock up on Founders Breakfast and Founders Imperial Stout throughout the winter and am usually just reaching the end of my supply by the time the next year's batch is out.

Others I get frequently (usually at bars/restaurants):
    Ten Fidy
    Dark Truth
    Lefthand Milk stout (and Nitro)
    Wachusett Milk stout
    Rogue Chocolate/Double Chocolate
    Founders Porter
    BBC Coffeehouse Porter
    Allagash Black

Dark horse reserve special black bier is a definitely my go to stout. Not many stouts this good for 10.99 a sixer anymore.

I have a nice home brew irish stout as my go-to. About 5% abv, widely available in my household.

I like to get a few 6ers of Bells Java Stout when it is released and drink over time.

    Bell's Kalamazoo is underrated too...

Also, if you can ever get Alesmith Speedway, yum!

If we're talking go-to in terms of availability, I guess it would be Old Rasputin, followed by Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and Dark Truth Stout by Boulevard (Ten Fidy is #1 in this category while it's available). Stone's RIS is probably here too.

If we're including the harder-to-get stuff, the following are my absolute favorites:

    1) Darkness
    2) FIS, Dark Lord

It's a shame I can't get any of them in any serious quantity (although I'm pretty good on DL).

I also really like Pastel Black from Goose Island, but that's brewery-only and not consistently there.

Elysian Split Shot Espresso Milk Stout. A true "dessert" stout.

Another vote for Black Chocolate Stout. One of the best values on the market and arguably better than Narwhal and Old Rasputin

For me it's Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. Allagash Black is not a stout. Despite of what the label says. You can even taste it.

Locally I love the Stout O))) from TRVE.
In bottles and on draft I tend to go with, Avery's Out of Bounds.
For something bigger, whatever the current Yeti is.
I used to love Left Hand Milk Stout, but I'm kinda burnt out on Nitro, even with stouts. I do still like the "normal" bottled version, though.

Great thread, though. Sometimes I get burnt out trying to find (and then ponying up for) these big, bad limited release stouts. Nice to have a checklist of go-tos in the back of your mind.

I'm a Kalamazoo fan for sure, though Obsidian is nice if you want something a bit more citric and roastier.

Love Brooklyn from my time on the East Coast, but was a tad disappointed in Black Chocolate. Slightly over-roasted to my palate, and the booze peaks through a bit much.
