Really excited that they are releasing this beer again. I figured that would happen considering the success it had the first time. Also super excited that they're allowing you to buy a whole case this time around. 4 bottles just was not enough.

$8 is quite a bit for a DIPA, but it's so worth it. Dinner really is an amazing beer.

So say that someone was coming from PA for this. Any other places near MBC to see while I'm there. It will be a short turn around so really looking for places to buy some bottles that I wouldn't normally be able to get in PA

    Thanks in advance.

I'd check out Bier Cellar in Portland. It's about 15-20 minutes south of MBC and has a huge selection and usually carries most Maine breweries in the area. Depending on the next release, you may be lucky and get some Bissell Brothers The Substance when you're in the area.

If you're looking to see some more breweries, there are a whole bunch in the Portland area. Allagash, Bissell Brothers, Foundation, Austin Street are all in the same industrial park. You can park your car in one spot and hit all those breweries. It's really awesome.

That's really all that's close to MBC. Oxbow and Marshall Wharf are both great, but also about 2 hours north of MBC so I don't know if that helps you.

Oxbow is actually only about 50 minutes from MBC, but Marshall Wharf is a haul about 1:45, but worth it if time permits.

I just wanted to point out that Bissell Brothers and Austin Street are only open on Saturdays, and Foundation on Fri, Sat, and Sun. So if he's planning to go to MBC on the day Dinner is released - a Wednesday - Allagash will be the only brewery on Industrial Way that is open that day.

Good call. I need to get down to Foundation and Austin St as I've yet to try either. I've had a 4 pack of Bissell Brothers Substance and that's a fantastic beer that I hope gets up my way sooner than later so I don't have to drive as far for it!

Ah, thanks for that. Probably should have double checked the hours before saying that.

I've had The Substance but I haven't been to the brewery yet. I went to the opening of Austin Street two weeks ago and I really like Patina Pale Ale. That's all they have on today but next weekend they will have a pilot IPA w/Citra and they're hoping to have a DIPA on. I've been to Foundation the last three Fridays. I love Oxbow but they are about an hour and 15 minutes away from me. I'm pretty happy Foundation is making farmhouse ales a 10 minute drive from where I live.

Is a case of MBC 6 or 12 bottles? I assumed its 12, but some larger bottles come as six. Their bottles are in between so I am wondering what the Dinner limit will be: 6 or 12?

Can anyone tell me what kind of traffic to expect leaving Boston at around 3:30 PM?

Take it from me, I do this all the time..... You should be getting out of there just in time but will hit a little traffic, nothing crazy. If I were you, take the Tobin -> Route 1 -> 95. If you were to take 93 to 95 or 495, that could get especially ugly. Once you get past Portsmouth, I can't really comment how it moves that far North at that time of day.

We just went up this weekend. Left Northern RI at 3pm and hit some traffic on 95 at exit 30 around 4pm. Once we got past the 128 to 95 north split (exit 45) it was smooth sailing. Made it to Old Orchard Beach (just south of Portland) around 5:45.

none of this means a thing to me! hahaha. Google maps says it's 2 hrs from my hotel to Maine Beer Co. (at the speed limit, of course)

    LOL

Basically, once you clear exit 45 on 95 (north of Boston), there is zero traffic even at 5pm.

What time does the release start? I don't see anything listed on their web site.
