Parabola in MA

    How was redstones? I showed up at like 3:45 to pick up a few things (I don't like Parabola) I saw a few parking lot dwellers. I hope it wasn't crazy.

    Sunset menu showing it on tap. $10.99 for 13oz is actually pretty reasonable, at least compared to some other stuff on there.

    Did I miss the Sucaba there? Will forego all Parabola for Sucaba.

    From what I gathered in central mass most stores got a case if that. Most were spoken for already. Never got to a shelf. Not easy to hunt this one. Few stores even got theirs last week.

    Why? This is a beer that retails at ~$16 for a 22oz bottle. $10.99 is about a $1.50 markup from that. I know keg prices are different, but in the wine world a per-glass markup like that from a highly sought-after bottle would be considered a steal.

    I think bars should be encouraged to pour a few more expensive drafts and bottles. It would allow brewers to experiment with the pricier-to-produce limited releases we all seem to go nuts for, and at the same time give more fans a chance to try them.

    I was able to grab 5 in East Greenwich, RI for $16 a piece last Friday. I imagine the one I left is long gone.

    I agree especially on harder to find bottling a like Kbs and parabola. It's nice for the public to get a taste for it.

    Talked to someone I know there and I pointed out the pricing disparity. They realized as I was talking to them that they had made a mistake...but people had already bought the allotment at the mistake price. Crazy beer people paying double...
