Just poured this one as well, good representation of a solid barrel aged stout.

Plenty of the barrel aged Kilt around the Atl. Let me know if you want some, it's excellent!

2013 Boulevard Imperial Stout. Best explanation is arguably the best Impy Stout I've ever had. Like Ten Fidy & The Abyss mated. Soft soft & silky mouthfeel. Very close to a perfect beer. Sadly, today's new beer Geek is more impressed with flavor overload than perfect balance. This has perfect balance. Very highly recommended.

I'm back with new brew number two. This one is courtesy of the old man, and his Michigan beer mule. He has been giving me some of these Shorts brews that I can't get here in Illinois. I have to say that I haven't been "wowed" by the few I've had before, but I kept an open mind with this one. By this one, I am of course referring to The Soft Parade, which is described as a high gravity ale that is fermented with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. Here's what I thought of it:

Pours a hazy red with a half finger of pink head that dissipates into nothing quickly. It looks a lot like the Blue Moon Farmhouse Red. Not a good start! The raspberries and the blackberries come through in the nose very strong, and there is some vanilla in the background. Taste is a bit different. The berry notes are not as defined as the nose, but they are all there, and they contribute to make this one non-cloyingly sweet all the way down the throat. The flavors do not linger for very long afterward. For a 9% beer, the body is pretty light (meaning medium bodied), and the carbonation level is about average, which help make this beer very drinkable.

Overall, it's pretty good. I think it's a tasty beer, but I wouldn't buy it again. So far, I think my favorite brew from Shorts is their IPL (I can't remember the name), but I'm not too big on these guys.

One more tune! For those of you that recognize my profile picture, you're in for a treat. For those that don't, you're still in for a treat.

    Have a great week everybody!
    Cheers!

I've ventured into these threads only a few times just to check it out and read a few posts. I just chalked it up to regular threads like, "What are you drinking now" and "Latest hauls." However, I see it is much more than that and has its own little community. I was invited to post here by a fan of these threads to commemorate the retirement of a regularl, so I am happy to help. I was going to have my Sprocket Bier for this thread but @jhartley beat me to it.

So, I was going to open up a Hop Wallop since it is new to me and is being retired, which I figured suited this occasion, but then I heard it was supposed to be a new beer. Luckily, I had a bunch to choose from, so I picked an Endless IPA from Goose Island, which is also appropriate because this thread is endless.

It was good enough for a session IPA, not at the top of the pack but just behind them (my review). I will say that I could keep drinking this, since it is so smooth and easy going. A great name for a session IPA. Oddly enough the video I planned to post also fits this beer's namesake as well.

p.s. Thanks for inviting me @BeerKangaroo.

    Hey Gilla,
It does not have to be a new release beer, just a beer you have never tried and is new to you. Does make it fun either way though. Come and join us again next sunday seeing as we have everything in place (thanks Utopiajane & Cavedave) to keep this thread going.
    Cheers
