Had a great time, the bus ride was really cool. Was a bit annoyed as were a lot of people I talked too that some of the kegs on the list didn't get tapped.

I would like to formally petition de Garde change their anniversary date as it coincides directly with my newly born babes birthday and I fear that I will miss this seemingly wondrous event year after painful year.

Curious.....how did the bus ride work out. If I remember right there were 8 of you. I've done the same for football games.

Well if you would have drank more so the other kegs were blown - all the kegs would have been tapped.

There were actually 14 on the bus. I think it worked out pretty well, although it was a little tight on the way home with all the cases of beer.

Were you a bit annoyed by the bottle share? It was the largest bottle share I've ever seen. Likely 150-200 individual bottles opened. With that much non-draft beer available, kegs are naturally going to take longer to kick. I personally would rather miss out on a keg or two and have access to a huge variety of bottles. It's one of the cooler things about the De Garde events.

Am I correct in assuming that the rest of the kegs didn't get tapped because La Folie was turding it up on the opposite side of all the amazing De Garde taps? :grinning:

Solution simple. When they are of age, take them with you. You only have how many years to wait?

    Well that was fun.

Thanks to everyone for coming and for all the support. And huge thanks to the very hard working people who helped pull it together.

We switched out the Chenin Bu for the Plum at the last minute since we werent 100% happy with the conditioning process on the Chenin. We won't sell/give beer that we arent happy with. We hope everyone understands.

Regarding kegs, J. Wakefield had understandable reasons and couldn't get the beer here in time. The only other keg that we didn't tap was the Abracadabra from Block 15. Not by intention, we just didn't get to it. We feel that oversight was somewhat mitigated by the six very good and hard to come by brews that we did tap that were previously unannounced. We trust that most people enjoyed the selection.

Again, thanks to all for your patronage and patience. We strive to provide the best experience we can and are always working on making it better.

    Let's do this again.

I enjoyed the bottle share as much as the next guy but, you know, call me crazy; I wanted as much de Garde as possible at a de Garde event. ;-)

From what Trevor says, it looks like we did get to everything. But I feel like it's sort of important to make sure we're all supporting the taps / bottles they're pouring at the event for obvious reasons rather than focusing mostly on the bottle share. It's cool it's there, but it's icing; Fleur Desay, Side Project Collabs, Apricot, Strawberry, Port Biere de Garde were the cake.

The event was great. No doubt it was one amazing day in terms of quality especially. I think the long wait to get in (turned out it was for bottles, not really a wait to get in) will get fixed. It was certainly a bummer to stand in line for 2.5 hours, but again considering that this was the first event of its kind, I think lots can be learned. I will say this: the respect and love for De Garde is real and is not going away. It's having an impact on Tillamook and the wider Oregon scene which is saying something. You gotta love the honesty of Trevor when he expressed surprise at the turnout. I'm not surprised, the product is amazing and the passion is evident. Nice seeing everyone as well!

it was a great event. except for the fact that i got in at 12 as a guest with a keeper, only to find out that at 2 i had to get into the huge line outside. on top of that news and my girlfriend getting sick, we left pretty early. no bottles for us..

Wow, I entirely missed when that went on. Really, with so many taps and so many bottles, it was pretty easy to miss something. Did the Vin: Melange go on tap at some point? I missed that one too. That said, it was really more beer than anyone could reasonable sample, and the bottle pours were a nice surprise. (Boysenberry maintains its crown as my favorite de Garde beer, and one of my top beers from anyone.)

I think it was for over an hour and I doubt we drained half the sixtel.
    Yup. Killed the Melange.
And we ended up with leftover Boysenberry.
    Definitely too much beer.
    Glad nobody died.
