...sure, just write them here to ask where in München you can buy them. If you're lucky, and beg, maybe they'll just send you the labels. Or look on ebay?
They have labels on ebay.de but most of the neck labels are damaged. The bottles also look different from the paulaner we get here. Might just have to email everyone selling them on ebay. Are you a Paulaner drinker? Maybe we can work something out.
Nope. They're a Grman conglomerate. So, Bayern München are the Dallas Cowboys or NY Yankees of Germany, you either love or hate the team. I'm an anti-Bayern fan, and unless there playing in the Champions League, I root for them to lose. Second, unless you live n München, I doubt you'd find these for sale. They'd be burned and trashed in any other part of Germany. And I don't live in MÜ, and so I've never seen these, and Paulaner isn't even sold in any store I've ever visited. Sorry. eBay is the way to go. Heja BVB!
I love BVB's gameplay. Root for them whenever they are on except against The Reds. They play real German football unlike what Pep is doing now. Just grew up here in California interested in Bavarian culture, cars and castles. Thanks anyways. The search will continue. Anyone in München have access to these?
I've seen those FC Bayern-bottles a lot in REWE stores. I even think, not too long ago. They may still be around. Never bothered to buy some for basically the same reasons as @boddhitree : 1) FC Bayern 2) Paulaner. That's anti-marketing.
Let's be honest with each other, though - we're all going to buy the Cleat/Boot glass & six-pack, right?
I would! LoL, I do buy the stein with the 1 liter can inside during Oktoberfest. But their only beer I really like is the Salvator Doppel Bock Come on? If anyone sees the Bayern Munich beer and is willing to mail it to me, I will make it worth your time and effort
Then you're first lesson should be that Bayern München is the club of the newly rich who moved to München to make money. Real Münchner support 1860 München and hate Bayern München with passion. Real Münchner also don't drink Paulaner anymore, they drink Augustiner
No exposure to 1860 here, Almost never see Bundesliga at all, I can't get a satellite for TV where I am. All I know about TSV1860 is that they share a stadium, and the Bender Brothers used to play for them. Will look for Augustiner, the ones available more commonly are the other 5 bigger breweries from there.
See, that's yet another point, there are no other 5 bigger breweries anymore. There are only 2 big breweries left in München which are Augustiner and Hofbräu. All the other big names are part of InBev or The Oetker Group or some other global conglomee and premuch all that's left in München are a few PO Boxes to give people the rather misleading idea that they still exist as independent entities.
Welcome back Stahlsturm! I've missed hearing your voice here. By the way, I'm traveling to Munich at the end of May (sorry) and staying about a block away from the Spaten brewery if I'm reading the map properly. I will send you pictures to confirm its existence.
If you wanted to show him another one, you could also take a tour at Paulaner : http://www.viator.com/tours/Munich/...Brewery-and-Beer-Tour-in-Munich/d487-2850BEER
Where are you staying? I used to stay right on Arnulf Str., right across from the Hauptbahnhof. I was within close walking distance of Spaten as well as Augustiner Keller and Löwenbräu Keller.
We'll be about a block north, on Marsstraße. By the way, I was disappointed to see that the Augustiner Keller biergarten does not sell the Helles Lagerbier (at all, let alone vom Holzfass). They have the Edelstoff vom Holzfass, but not the Hell. I was interested in trying it, as I have heard great things but have frequently been a little disappointed by the bottled version. Anyway, I'm sure I can track it down somewhere closer to the Dom, but I was excited to hit that biergarten and now I'm not so sure I'll go. Well, maybe for one...(liter)
You could hit the Augustiner Braeustuben. They have the Hell. It's not that far at all from the Augustiner Keller and you can get a bit of a look at the brewery complex too.
I very much doubt you'll be disappointed in the Edelstoff from the Holzfass. If you are, send me a bill and I will begin the process of an Ueberweisung to your bank account.
Yeah, that Biergarten is well worth the trip. Have one, hop the S-bahn down to the Großgaststätte -- pretty sure they had all labels there. Another Biergarten near where you're staying is Park Cafe (HB) -- pretty nice there on the Botanic Garden.
