Big Sky makes some good brews and cans most of them as I recall. Their Scape Goat Pale Ale is a very good English style pale at 4.7% ABV.

PS- I don't know if you get distro and I'm too lazy to research it, but cheers! :grinning:

1/2% ABV different from beers that are supposed to be around 5%ABV instead of ones that have been shoehorned into being 4.5-5.0% at the cost of flavor.

My first thought as well. OP, Bitter American for sure. If not that, here's some more ideas:

-Grey Sail flagship (cream ale brewed just over the CT border in RI)
    -Narragansett Bohemian Pils
    -Narragansett Summer
    -Long Trail Ale
    -Bittburger Pils
    -Brooklyn Lager
-And the above mentioned stuff such as Carton Boat, and All Day IPA.

My choice would be a 12 pack or possibly a case (depending on how long this festival is) of Sierra Nevada Summerfest. Relatively cheap, accessible, sessionable and absolutely delicious.

I still haven't spotted these in cans but remain on the lookout.

    Alternative answer: Notch Session Pils.

(Though I'm not confident that Notch is available down Connecticut way.)

Ah, ok. I say just forget the actual abv and the session definition and just pick lower abv beers in general and choose from there. For that reason I'd choose a session IPA just because they taste good

IN CT? Nebco Elm City pilsner for 6 packs. 12 packs Id look for harpoon or brooklyn summer ales. If your going the ipa route id throw in another vote for All day, but at 6% id go with nebco sea hag. Not quite low abv at that point, but that on what you consider low abv.

I second the 21st Amendment "Bitter American". Excellent session canned beer. Also a fan of Cisco Whale Tale.

Terrapin came out with Recreationale last year in twelve packs at a pretty good price point ($14) that was a solid poolside crusher.

SNPA, All Day IPA, or Boston Lager all sound good to me.

not to sound like an asshole but....

Get two tiers of beers. The craft beer for you and your group (all day, bitter american). and get like a 12 pack or more of lower tier beer (pbr, highlife, lionshead). Cause at festivals like this you will have some stoned out people who will ask for a beer. They are so messed up, they won't enjoy it. hell even charge them a buck a can if you want..

I agree here, maybe get the 30-rack of PBR to be safe.
