This is funny. I was there the same time and got the same beers and then went home and cracked a Floyd d'Rrue.

Great notes on the Sucre and agreed with all of them.

Finally I think the Bemangoed stole the show. Great summer beer.

Presumably, yes. Aaronkv said he saw Soroboruo up on the site for a few minutes, and we should be seeing the Sucre variants this month.

Sucre variants, Soroboruo, and RDF/FDR/Misch 'second chance' options for Hoarders are up (2/4/3 max for those 2nd chance options, respectively).

For those who have tried the Sucre variants - any advice? Not a lot of data out on BA as of yet.

So are the other Sucre variants going on sale in June or random times later in the year? Cognac is HS exclusive, but that still leaves Portuguese Brandy, Tequila, and New American Oak. Cognac might not be available for extra purchases, but we know all four of those exist since they'll be at the Urge/Bruery dinner.

Is New Oak Hoarders only? It was my personal favorite on tap.

Tawny Port > New American Oak > Madeira > Rye ........and way down the line > Rum.

The Tawny Port variant is very sweet and smooth. Oak was great. Light, in comparison to most of the anniversary variants anyways. Quite drinkable. Madeira and Rye didn't make much of an impression on me. And I found Rum to be positively awful. The smell alone is crazy boozy and spicy. It was an assault on my senses. I had a friend there though that really enjoyed it. Reminded her of Sailor Jerry.

Nope, Hoarders can only see Madeira, Rum, Rye, and Tawny Port.

The Soroboruo is a bit of a surprise being that it is a sour scotch ale. I can't help but wonder if this was intentional or if this was an infection that was caught early and they decided to run with it as a sour.

Pretty excited about the tawny port sucre, but I'm definitely confused about Soroboruo. The list we got before purchasing our memberships included Soroboruo as a scotch barrel aged scotch ale, and then magically it was gone when the memberships started...and now we're seeing it arise again as a sour scotch ale? I mean, I know the list at the beginning was a general guideline and I'm not taking it as the word of god, but at the same time I feel like they're pulling a fast one on us. And I'm not necessarily bashing them for it either, because it could be awesome, but after the commotion from RDF and FDR, I'm a bit skeptical as to whether or not this was supposed to be sour or not and they're just looking to get rid of it.

I won't judge it until I try it, and I won't judge The Bruery for trying to sell it, but man...come on. We're not stupid.

Out of the four I've tried I'd say Rye > NA Oak > Tawny Port > Madeira.

The NAO Sucre was a definite improvement over the NAO Bois, which I also thought was overly-woody. I have little to no experience with Port and Madeira, so I wasn't able to pick out any big differences between the two. The sweet fruitiness of the Port seemed a bit muted compared to the Madeira, which had a much bolder wine flavor. I wouldn't want to drink much of either in one sitting, though.

I wonder what happened to the tequila barrel variant that they showed a picture of them bottling on their instagram feed a few weeks back...
