Southern Star Black Crack..... It's back!

Maybe it makes it up to Austin? I would love to have some black crack this year.

 

I had this last year and it was very good. Hope to run in to it this year.

 

Still have a couple left over from last year.... will be interesting to compare, if I can get it fairly easily.

 

Can anyone confirm what I've heard...that it's barreled exclusively in Garrison Bros. Whisky barrels?

Had a black crack NYE. Very strong offering

 

I've been holding on to one from last year can't wait to do a side by side tasting

 

I think I bought 2 cases last year, won't be doing that again..

 

It was a bit too buttery / diacetyly for my tastes last year.

 

Their was some variation bottle to bottle. I had some great bottles and some meh bottles, and a friend had an infected bottle. I will not pass it up if I see it.

 

I definitely will pick this up, had no luck finding any last year .

 

I thought you actually enjoyed driving around town all day collecting beer...

 

Did you experience bad bottles as well?

 

Had one a few months ago that had been kept in the fridge since I bought them and it had developed a bit of a sour flavor. The other one I had fresh was pretty damn good.

 

2 cases was at 2 places lol. i liked it, i didn't 2 case like it though.

of the ones i drank and shared, all were good.

 

Skipping this one...too many new beers coming

 

Has anyone seen it lately? It was not a difficult find last year. Heavy diacetyl last year. Cellared a couple. Worth a try again. Hopefully better.

It's a very expensive keg. Expect draft prices to be high.
