I really enjoy CW BBS and CW BBBW.....there was one batch this year that turned a little quickly, you can find the number on the neck of the bottle....it is there but its very hard to read. The bad batch number is 36513

Don't compare those two. One is ~10% and the other ~15%. That's a big difference.

I don't see why I shouldn't compare the two??? As a "poor mans" BCBS, I would assume that statement implies that it is slightly similar in certain aspects, however not equal.

They are both stouts aged in bourbon barrels.

BCBS is a poor mans black note....

I will have to check the bottle I had last night. I assumed that code you were speaking of was in the barcode on the label, but apparently its printed on the neck. The bottle I opened was just fine, tasted as good as ever. I'm just a little skeptical of any of them being bad...because we seem to just be relying on a random tweet from a person who is "in the know". CW seems pretty good at taking blame if their product is off...considering they have screwed up PM so many times in recent years.

and it goes Black note<CW BBS<BCBS for me...just sayin

I like Poormans stuff... Regularly Available... Nicely priced... No Hunting.... Tastes Pretty good....

And Poormans is still misleading... 3.50 for a bottle of beer still ain't cheap by Natty Ice standards...

That was only of my favorite things about CW... walk into almost any store and there was a 4 pack waiting for me to buy... any day of the week...

I picked up a 4-pack of the 36513 batch of CWBBS. It was quite sour and unpleasant. I emailed Central Waters several weeks ago and they haven't replied. I still have some bottles remaining from the 35113 batch and they've been drinking fine.

In my opinion, BCBS > Black Note > CWBBS. For a local (MN) option, I prefer Lift Bridge BA Silouette to CWBBS.

I have e-mailed Central Waters a few times as well and they won't respond, bought three four packs from Blue Max that all have the bad batch number.

At least they stand behind their product.

I was reimbursed last year for Peruvian Morning.
Yeah, it took a few weeks to get the check.
But it's not like I needed that check to buy groceries to live on.

I'll give them a pass on the slow rebate just for the fact that they make one of the best BA Barleywine known to exist.
I love that stuff. Anybody has some that doesn't like it, I'll take it off your hands.
