Tonight they are tapping the regular Naughty Sauce as well as a cask with the special El Tigre coffee beans.

So is Cinnamon Roast Crush going to only be available at the Taste of Anaheim event or the brewery as well?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but hasn't Guinness been doing this for a very long time? Nitro?!?! in bottles & cans?

I cannot correct you, because you are not wrong.

I know Guiness patented the technology in the '70s and re-engineered it in the early '80s. I don't believe they are selling it. A brewery the size of NAW will then have to figure out a way to do it just as Left Hand did. I don't understand why Left Hand or Guiness wouldn't sell the rights to other breweries.

LH was trying to patent "Nitro" recently which seems to be going in the opposite direction from sharing their technology with other breweries (even for $).

P.S. I hope they are unsuccessful and have to sell their technology to others.

They are simply trying to trademark the word Nitro, not the process they created, which they are not inclined to share with anybody if they don't want to. I remember reading they spent quite a bit of money getting the process down.

Right, but I'm thinking if they don't even want anyone using the word "Nitro" for their beer, they sure as shit don't want them copying their process.

Is the special release at the tasting room or is it just at the taste of anahiem event?

Taste of Anahiem event. $45 entry - no thanks. Naughty Sauce is on tap in the tasting room.

yeah, should have probably made that a bit more clear in the bewsletter. Though I did see on their facebook page that they'll have it on cask some time next week.

Did you see the picture on instagram of people lined up to get in? ()

I wonder how many of them are just there for the NAW beers--I bet even the organizers are wondering wtf is going on.

I was at NAW tonight and the Cinnamon Roast Crunch was on tap. I got the last of it though. I'm guessing they came back from the event early and tapped it in the tasting room.

well i dont remember the limitations on patents and i'm too lazy to google it right now, but they do have an expiration date. i thought it was only like 10 years.

20 years if filed after 1995, 17 or 20 years if filed before 1995 (depending on issue and file dates). Design patents are shorter (14 or 15 years) but this wouldn't be a design patent.

It was patented in the UK. Not sure about the laws.
